10 of cups and 5 of cups in the "present" position.

6 of cups in the "what it appears" position

and 8 of cups reversed in the "final results" position.

now, i did this spread about a person and how they are feeling about getting back with another person.

the 5 and 6 of cups seem to me a sort of sad, nostalgia. the 10 seems to be some sort of happiness with the person. almost as if combined these cards are saying contradictory feelings... like the person misses somethings but then again wants to move on - like they can't make up there mind.

now what i'm mainly confused about is the 8 of cups as a final result as to if they want a relationship again with this person. i know that the 8 of cups reversed would be a big "no". the person would be withdrawing from the situation and be moving on...
i've always been a bit dense on the reversed position. some say that it should be interpreted in the same manner as is it was dignified - and thus a no, they will take these feelings and move on. other interpretations say the exact opposite. that they will hang on to the relaionship and do not want to move on.

well, seeing as these two interpertations are exact opposites, i'm at a loss. i'm thinking maybe the person wants to move on but sees it as very painful and is not quite sure that they are ready to or are capable of leaving the past behind.

this would make sense. the relationship seems to be moving in a differant direction, and taking on a new, but not necesarily "bad" direction. i.e. friends.

does anyone else have a take on this spread or card?

The 6 of cups tells me that the querent cant stop thinking of how things were when they were with the other person.

Yes, this person has expressed being happy in the state they are in currently. I also wondered if the 10 of cups meant this (being happy as they are). the 10 of cups in my deck has a picture of a castle on an island and to me it felt like an isolated happiness.. as in away from the relationship and by themselves.
This person had difficulty expressing what they wanted. He actually could not put it into words. Kind of like he wanted to grow and was happy being alone and growing on his own, experiencing new things, but missed the good parts of the relationship.
