Hi Aselzion,

<<If you look at Cheiro's Book of Numbers (from which Linda took all of her notes on Numerology), the pictures for the Compound numbers that he uses are taken directly from The Tarot. I think Linda just decided to use a more positive Image than The Devil for the Number 15.>>

I read somewhere that "Lucifer" who is considered to be the Devil by the Catholic Church actually maps to Enki of Sumerian Mythos and is said to be the initiator of Gnosis. What if this is the reason that 15 is called the Devil? To put off the unevolved and only allow serious practitioners to use Tarot?

According to Gnosticism Sumerian version, Enki is the wise serpent who teaches Adam/Eve the value of the fruit of knowledge and makes them aware of the power of their DNA.

Greetings...

Lotus...

Judgments... observations...semantics really. I don't recall asking you to leave the Forum, only to Think BEFORE you post. You present as a loving and evolved creature, but you show your eath bound Ego at virtually every turn. You claim to channel your "Spirit by God", yet you have no regard for the consequences of your words. Then upon reflection, you decide thet you are sorry for having "let something get under your skin."

It is a part of our evolution to learn from our mistakes. If you feel that taking your proverbial ball and going home, is better than admitting your human-ness, then that is your Choice.

You say blunt, rude things (which you often apologize for later) and then sign them with messages of "love to all"... excuse me? How does that show anyone that you are walking your talk?

Stay or go, but be it by your own Will and know that it has nothing whatever to do with me. All I am doing is holding up a mirror for you. If you do not like what you see, change it. That is how we ALL grow.

IQ...

Interesting. I have heard of the Enki/Sumerian legends in the work of Sitchen, but have not had the time to study them with any great depth. You may very well be on to something.

Have you had a chance to peek at the link in regard to The Devil card?

In addition, we can see that 1 + 5 = 6, which is The Lovers. The Devil seems to be making mock of The Lovers... (particularly well noted in the Waite deck, and The B.O.T.A. Tarot designed by Paul Foster Case) and I think this is done for a good reason.

The Qabalists attribute Mirth to the letter Ayin. Paul Case points out that "mirth is often provoked by incongruity, by human weakness, foibles and shortcomings. Nevertheless laughter is prophylactic. It purifies subconsciousness and disolves mental complexes and conflicts.
In a hymn to the Sun-God Ra we read: 'Thy priests go forth at dawn, they wash their hearts with laughter.' This is a prescription we may all follow to our advantage."

I think that the picture of the inverted Pentagram in this card is very telling. It shows the symbol of Man, inverted; signifying that we often do not understand our True place in the Cosmos. It is this misunderstanding of the correct use of our powers and possibilities that keeps us in bondage to the material.

Of course this is an illusion, but so is The Devil.

You have sparked much thought, IQ.. thank you!

In the Light...

A

Hi Aselzion,
The Devil Card explanation was very refreshing, I had no clue about the meaning of the inverted pentacle.

BTW, I serendipitiously found one more link for Tarot and 78.
The total astrological combination pairings are exactly 78!

Aries-Aries
Aries-Taurus
...
Aries-Pisces
Taurus-Taurus
Taurus-Gemini
...
Taurus Pisces
...
...
Pisces Pisces being the final combo.

The formula is n x (n+1)/2
where n = 12,
or 12 x (12+1)/2
which is exactly 78!!!!!

It could mean a mapping of every combination to a Tarot Card. Or it is just a deliberate fit to make us more aware of astrology and Tarot together.

Greetings...

IQ... Very interesting, and quite likely the Truth. Each combination mapping to a particular Tarot card.... hrmm! (more spiraling)

Did you notice that 78 = 7 + 8 which can also be read Neptune + Saturn?

The number 7 (Neptune) speaks to us of turning within, finding the inner Path, listening to that wee small voice inside. Neptune can be our greatetst inspiration, and the compassion that allows us to grow beyond ourSelves to see the Whole.

When used incorrectly, Neptune can be illusion, delusion, drugs/alcohol and addiction; escaping from reality (8 - Saturn). It shows us how we can delude ourselves, if we do not pause to meditate and focus within.

The number 8 (Saturn) is what allows the manifestation of Matter in this plane. Thoughts become things by the process of Image/Ordain/Manifest. It is the Priciple of limitation/Crystallization. Karma and Time. When used appropriately it is the drive to achieve our Soul's Goals. Which we can only discover when we stop listening to the Ego and begin to find the True Source within.

Used incorrectly the 8 becomes a stumbling block, the taskmaster that puts obstacles in our Path. The key is to realize that that taskmaster is always ourSelves.. when we throw the boomerangs and Karma sends them back to bite us in the proverbial butt.

Thus is 78 a hint at the meaning of Wisdom. The Wise Soul, listens to the Spark of Truth from the Source within and Manifests in the material plane by the process of Right Thinking.

7 + 8 = 15 (6)

1 + 5 = The Sun + Mercury = Venus

When we hold true to Who We Are and walk the straight and narrow Path, and Think and Speak from our Source, we generate Love, which is our True Essence.

What an interesting conversation you have started here, my friend.

Blessings of Light and Magic...
