Past, present, future (respectively left to right)or Thesis (pros of the situation), synthesis (outcome), antithesis (cons/opposing forces) I have been told that each of these ways is the proper way to do it, but I am unsure of which is correct. 1231= past 2= present 3= future just waht you said. Now the other, I've seen it more often like: 3 1 2 1 =what you don't know 2 =what you do know 3 =synthesis there's scores of three card spreads, the only big rule is not to change the position meanings after you deal the cards.
