I've started using a pendulum... I've been curious about it for a long time so I finally decided to try it out using my favourite ring (which I wear every day) suspended from a thread. I've been amazed at how it works! I'm wondering though, when I tuned it and every time after that, it does something strange - a "yes" is a circle, but a "no" swings back and forth in a direct line. From what I know, that's not very usual, so what is going on? Why doesn't it go in a circle in the opposite direction? A "maybe" swings to my left on a 45 degree angle.I've also been using it over a diagram that I printed out and have been amazed at how that works! IP: Logged |

I too just started using a pendulum. I've wanted to try it out for years since my aunt told me about her experiences. She has MS and after many years got sick and tired (figuratively and literally) of the meds the docs were giving her. She began taking natural remedies and used her pendulum to guide her. She is in her late 70's and is able to play on her hands and knees with her grandchildren daily for hours on end with no reprocussions later. Anywho, a great friend bought me one for xmas along with a book "the beginners guide to pendulums" unfortunaly i havent had much time to sit and read, but have managed to read enough to tune it. I've used it a couple times here and there, more or less experimenting. But the book also states that those such experiments can, in a sense, be insulting and i will begin to get inaccuarate responses. So careful with that. Also, that if you want something bad enough and you ask the pendulum you can envoke the answer which ye seek - so remember that to. If its something you truely want (or visa versa) it may be best to seek the assistance of someone else in getting the response and have them relay it to you. Have you tried to push the pendulum with your mind to a striaght up and down for yes, then come back to it a lil later and ask which motion is YES? By doing the above you would be setting your own responses per motion. As for your question above, i dont have an answer to that. But i can look a lil later in my book at home and see if there's anything pertaining to motions/responses such as yours. It's neat to find someone else whos just beginning to use one. As for the motion of mine, YES - striaght up and down. NO - side to side. MAYBE (45 bottom right to upper left and I also use UNLIKELY - which is opposite maybe. I use a chart that came with my pendulum and my free hand as well. One prob i seem to be having is i am unable at times to hold my hand steady - i tend to tremble. Which i didnt notice/pay attention to until using this, where im needing to steady my hand. So i have to work on that, or finding the cause of it. Happy Swingin' (ohhhhh, does that sound bad!?! - lol) Angie- IP: Logged |

I guess you and I are the Lindaland swingers club! Thanks for the info! I had always thought that it was supposed to go in a circle in one direction for yes, and circular in the other direction for no, so it's weird. When I use a printed out chart with lines on it, it goes in forward/back motions in the direction of the portion of the chart that indicates the probability of an occurence. Using it over a printout of the layout of Stonehenge makes it extremely strong... Are you resting your elbow on a table?

Hi GemI learned that you programme it first then stick to what is shown. For example..you could say "show me my yes" and then take note of what that is and the same with no. I have clockwise for yes, anti for no and side to side for dont know... And dont you just hate it when you get that DONT KNOW.....AAAARRRGHHHHH!!! x IP: Logged |

my mum introduced basic dowsing to me - she always suggested using a cork with a needle stuck in the top of it suspended by white thread. In terms of directions and so on, a really good way of doing things is by getting two pieces of white paper - write on the paper the question/situation/problem - it may only be one word such as a place or a name. Hold the pendulum over the paper - if it doesn't move at all then that is a negative response. If it moves a little then again, not great. But if it begins to spin round, clockwise, and the motion is very strong then that's a positive - obviously depending on the question you've asked!IP: Logged |

Hey mezzthanks gonna try that cool mum you have there Edit...excuse my dumbness....why two piece of paper...do you write something different on each one? Or could you write YES and NO on each one? IP: Logged |

Interesting! I'd like to try that. I'm confused about how not to get the answer you "want" though. I'm also wondering how best to use a stonehenge diagram. It definitely strengthens the responses but I wonder how to go from there??? IP: Logged |

I've bought a pendulum and book today and just started practising with it as per the book - am amazed at how clear it is. Been meaning to for a while.Mine rotates clockwise for yes, no motion for no and swings at 45 degree angle for maybe. I guess that there is no 'right' response - just go with the initial reaction you get. I've asked whether I am ready to propose questions and I get no at the moment so going to keep practising for a bit. I also am mindful about not influencing the response I get because I can get mine to move in any direction I want if I think it. GeminiLover75 - were you born 1975 then? Old post, I know, but I haven't been at LL for a while, so I'm just catching up.I've used a pendulum on and off for several years. I have quite a few pendulums made from different materials, including some that I made myself. Yes, you program them into your own patterns by asking a series of questions that you know the answers to. It doesn't matter which way the pendulum moves for yes and no or I don't know. Just take note and apply that from there on. I was always taught to ask the pendulum first, if it was okay to use it before every session. Otherwise, it can play tricks on you and you will get incorrect answers. Even after you have your answer, it's sometimes good to verify by asking "is that answer correct?" I was also told to say the following before asking the question....."for this is what I want to know, show me the truth....." If you want to experiment, run a pendulum around someone's body - it will pull into their aura. Another time I sensed I had a spirit at the bottom of my bed and when I moved toward it with my pendulum, the pendulum pulled away from me. You can try simple things like get a glass of water and a glass of coke. Swing the pendulum in between them and see which one pulls the pendulum in. It is a good idea to rest your elbow on a table as it makes for a smoother swing. I also have a book of pendulum charts which is quite fascinating. It even has a chart at the front to help you decide which chart you should be working with for that day. I was using this book a few years ago with my sister. The pendulum swung to the Bach Flower Remedy Chart. I turned to that page and swung the pendulum again, asking which remedy did my sister need? It went to something called Rescue Remedy. I'd never heard of that, but when I told my sister, she laughed as she had a bottle in her handbag. BTW - you can pretty much use anything that is weighty and on a string so be wary because I've found myself in situations where I've been holding objects and all of a sudden have them swing. Think toilet cubicle during period......yeah, I'll leave that story right there! with love purple_scorp IP: Logged |

I've used it with 100 percent accuracy (so far) in predicting the sex of unborn children. It works anytime after conception. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. WOW!! I put down my pendulum and book for a while; house projects taking up to much of my time and energy. I picked it up again on Monday. And now i see this post, again ... ironic? I think not!! Guess it must be my time .... Thats really intersting with the Auric fields. I will definetly be trying diffrent experiments. The book i have has quite a few practice experiments as well. One i saw having someone place quarters under a rug (with you outta the room) and then you use the pendulum to find them. And yes, Randall, That is incredible. Do you simply ask if its a boy or a girl? Hmmm, so one could also use them to know if someone has indeed concieved as well. Althouh it probably wouldnt behove us to ask the question regarding ourselves, since we can create the response we "want" ... OOooooo! I can't wait to play with mine some more!! ang- IP: Logged |

This is something typica in m y country to know the sex of the baby. You don't need to ask, just place it on top of the belly and if it starts swinging in circles is a girl and if it goes back and forth is a boy.I am pretty sure that is how it goes. IP: Logged |

My dad did this when I and my brother where in the womb.... We do it the same as NAM does in the UK... circles for girls, straight lines for boys.I've heard that you shouldn't use your dominant hand (the one you write with) to dowse as you tap into your conscious side and just get the anwser you want. Has anyone here used different kinds of crystals to dowse? Apparently different crystals have different 'personalities' or something, lol. IP: Logged |

i've been doing pendulum dowsing for 4-5 years now. but i've never been successful with it. as someone said above, it seems to show the answers i would like to see...does anyone have tips perhaps? i try hard not to think of what i want to see, but also i get too conscious of the results caused by my own hand-shaking. i use a faceted clear crystal pendulum with a silver chain i made (when i was learning jewelry making ) and on the other side i attached a tiny faceted amethyst. i feel that it's mine. once in a while i let it sit in a glass of water with lavender flowers over night by a window, hoping that it will cleanse itself and i can have accurate results. i "program" it before each session. it always swings clock-wise for yes, and counter for no. i do a test question every time, like "will it rain tomorrow?" but seems like it's reacting with empty answers, because it is always 50/50. is this a problem with my concentration? does anyone have a good advice? thanks! Oh yes, I remember this... When I was pregnant with my youngest a couple of other pregnant women at my work and I would play around with a pendulum. We got a sharpend pencil, put a sewing needle into the middle of the eraser, used a white thread and threaded the needle. We would hold the thread so the pencil is dangling and hold it just above your right wrist..or whatever hand you write with. If it swings in circles it's a girl, if back and forth a boy. It worked on all 4 of my kids. We all sat there taking turns with it and it was very accurate. This one woman at my work has 5 girls and it predicted every one of them then stopped. You can hold it above your belly too, but we did wrists. Cool post!IP: Logged |
