My question is: can a king or queen represent a situation?

Often when I'm doing tarot I will get a king or queen in a placement that doesn't seem to make sense to represent a person - what is your take on this?

For me, they are people, that is just the way I see it, I know others see it differently.
There are 78 cards, the World's History is there, see the word HISTORY, has STORY in it, actually, HIS STORY, for our History was written by man, for women were viewed as lesser than Men.
Every situation is in the cards, nothing is left out, it's all there.
So, for me, the kings and queens, are adults, and the pages and knights refer to children and teenagers
so when they are all put together, like,

say I get the Queen of Wands, followed by page of Swords, the first is a queen an adult, but, oh she is followed by the page, so this shows an immature behaviour, if it was followed by Page of Pentacles, then she is child-like in a good way, bearing good news..
I use them all together to get descriptions..

I guess it's hard for me to explain, hehe

when I read, a story unfolds, I weave the story to show the paths that are ahead..
probablities, none of it is set in stone,
it is just advice, hoping to show the best choices, but Free Wi11, will determine the
OutCome!

And I totally agree with you about the free will thing.

Recently I have been led more to ask for guidance from my Angel cards and less from the tarot; I don't know why really.

Lotus, nice explanation! Most of the time I'm just relying on my intuition when I don't know how to interpret the cards. Like Cat, I'm also confused about Kings and Queens. So it's always people then. Ok.

If I have questions, can I ask them in this thread please? I mean if you want to answer them.. )) they're silly questions really..

Okay, let me clarify, for me, the kings and queens are people, I know others see them
as others things, like what was mentioned,
the king of swords meaning legal matters.
I believe one must use their intuition, and
develop their own way, for we all learn differently.
For instance, I had mentioned that I could tell
if it was a twin Soul-Other Half, by the cards presented, or if it was just a soul mate...that is something I developed, learned to do.

You can ask me any questions, that's why we are all here, to learn from one another, by sharing our experiences, and the knowledge we have learned.

I consider all of you my teachers!

I like what you said about the teachers thing, we are all each other's teachers if we are open to it...
At my new job the other day a community nurse asked me for a form for something which neither of us knew what it looked like, but she was very short tempered with me, anyway I kept smiling and eventually found the correct form and gave it to her with a grin and said "well we've both learnt something new today haven't we?" She looked at me like I was a lunatic
Amazingly though, I didn't let it ruin my day, a sign to myself I think that I'm connecting at a higher level I truly believe the sharing of knowledge no matter how small is so important to our graduation through different levels of understanding - and I welcome it!
I'm rambling off subject again - LOL

no wonder coral frequency left, she wrote in Free For ALL, that coming to LL was making her depressed, and I can understand that, people say things to hurt you on purpose, insults, lies, they are truly not spiritual beings, having a human experience, they are just unable to overcome their dark side.
Sorry, I was attacked again in Universal Codes, and so was Dean the Moderator, some people have no respect for their fellow brothers and sisters.
