This card could be telling you thast you need apply you mental energy in a very prudent way. This is not the time to behave aggressively. Play your cards close to your chest, that sort of thing. If you are in a conflict with another, clear logical thinking will get you through.

Swords always indicate clear and logical thinking...swords are probably the least happy element to see in a reading due to the anxiety and worry that goes along with the element...the 7s are a kind of bogged down energy, almost a despair and lack of energy here

The 7 of swords often indicates a lone wolf mentality, i can get by this on my own, i can do it myself. It also can indicate a dishonour or a public shame that forces you into seclusion. Usually when someone decides to to do something alone, it is often because they dont' ahve the energy or patience to work with others. In the Thoth tarot this card is called "futility" and we imagine a boxer trying to come back after years of retirement. He is too old, fat, and out of shape, he has dreams of accomplishing something, but it won't happen.

When this card comes up it often can indicate blocked energy, when the universe closes something off to you, you must open a window and seek elsewhere. This is the most positive message I believe one can take from a 7...it definitely is not a positive number, better to apply your energy to a new endeavor. The 7s aren't so great. In the 7th position this might indicate in reference to a relationship, as this house rules partnerships/marriages.

OOPPS I read the 7 of swords...posting tired.

The nine of swords is the "OH **** !!" card.....i like to call this the panic attack card, it represents being toromented by anxiety and worry, feeling like an axe is hanging over your neck.....usually things aren't nearly as bad as they seem with this card tho. The nine indicates that the anxiety is already passing..
