IDK, cause it's blank, but I gotta tell someone this one!

The other morning I woke up at the unGodly hour of 4:30am to get ready for work, and when I swung my legs around to step on the floor, I saw something.. not right looking there.

I grabbed my glasses and it was a dead bird.
A very large dead bird!
I screamed.
First I thought (even though my brain said, "no dumb a ss wrong colors) it was my parrot, then I realized it was a wild bird.

He was dark gray, not solid black.
There wasn't any blood or guts on him, thank goodness.
My son took him "away." I didn't ask where.

I guess since I do have a bird dog, this kind of thing can be expected from time to time, but it did freak me out because, my Grandma always said a bird in your house means an upcoming death.
She never distinguished if the bird had to be living and flying or already dead.!

Weird sensation, very weird!

WoW Gypsee,

That would freak me out also. What happened to me last week was 2 different incidents. One was i had a turkey run out in front of my car, i stopped in time and it was ok.. The other was a few days after that a goose almost flew into the passenger side window of my car,he came to a complete stop in mid air and hovered straight up in the air managed to turn himself around just in time and go in the other direction

EDIT

This is really weird we both had experiences with Birds of one type or another

Hmm, that is weird!!

At least we know what kind of bird yours was for sure though. We could look up Turkey and Goose and see what those animal totems are? I think I have a 'Signs and Omens' type book somewhere around here.

I'll have a look for you once daylight comes back around.

(Maybe someone is telling us to spread our wings and fly? I realize turkeys don't fly, but it's still a bird.)

DEE, GUESS WHAT????

This past saturday, my parrot died!! We found him in the morning, just flopped over in his cage, he was 13. How weird is that??
I guess mine WAS a literal sign, I just had to get on here today and tell you that!
Yours were flying, so Thank goodness, probably not a death sign for you.

Goose*
*Similiar to the duck and the swan, the goose is associated with the Great Mother and often is found in fairy tales in this regard.
* A goose can be a prod in the rear. Do you want someone or something to get going?
* A goose can also mean acting foolishly, as in "silly goose."

That is from 'The Secret Language of Signs' by Denise Linn.
There was no listing for turkey.
I'm still searching for my animal totems book, haven't found that yet though....

Any thoughts on goose/geese?

Near-misses are scary, but at least they are okay.

Eh-yeghy-blegh.

That's the sound that came to my mind when I read that.
I have got to stop going on LL at night, I creeps me out.

EDIT: I meant the dead bird thing. The dog present is cute

last night i was out i wasn't driving and 4 white birds one after the other flew right at my car.
The first one clipped the windshield.
the next three all flew right by the passenger side where i was sitting.

Its not spring here yet there's still lots of snow on the ground. i dont know what kind of birds they were except they were not doves and they were small and white
