I started oracle cards reading a few months ago. I had a deck of them cards before and they gave me some pretty much spot on readings. I did them for me and my friends. They were really accurate. Now i bought another deck and i feel like this one totally refuses to work with me. I feel like it doesn't like me . what can I do to make them like me? how can i remove any negative energies surrounding them ? IP: Logged |

I know exactly how you feel. I had been using my 'old faithful' Rider Waite deck for years, and I felt I wanted something a bit more 'me'. I have bought so many beautiful decks, and only one half works for me, so I have returned to my Rider Waite's. I did work personally with these a lot, so maybe that was the key? Some readers recommens taking one card from the deck at a time, and meditate upon it, even putting it under your pillow when you sleep at night, and carry them everywhere with you until you 'click'. I hope it works out for you!IP: Logged |

I would say that I personally gave more time to those i had before. but with these new ones i feel "rejected". I have been sleeping with them under my pillow every night for about a week now and last night i was so devastated that i even held them in my hand while sleeping. Do you think it has something to do with putting them besides others? i keep both decks together? should i put them apart? or is it just my "inside" feeling that they are not working with me?IP: Logged |

I wouldn't really think that keeping them together would affect them. Maybe you are blocking your progress with them because you feel that negativity around them? Why don't you put them way for a while - if you really feel you want to work with them, it might just be that the timing's off. I had a beautiful deck of Faery Oracle cards and wanted to bond with them so bad, but they were having none of it. I gave up trying about 4 years ago, but I have kept them, just in case!IP: Logged |

I've had this happen to me too. I love both fairie imagery and I love anything that has to do with New Orleans.. the culture/food/voodoo etc. So, I bought Brian Froud's fairie deck and I also bought a Voodoo deck. What happened with the fairy cards was that I was so dang distracted by the pictures on them, that I couldn't concetrate.! Like I would take them out and then just stare at them, and then think about how I would love to sketch this or that fairy, and then I'd take off and go find paper. With the Voodoo cards, hmm , IDK something about the colors and the artwork didn't resonate with me, but I haven't given up yet. It's just like shoes! You have to find the ones that are not only comfortable, but they are also stylish (to you) and that you are willing to travel a great distance while wearing. And sometimes the time just isn't right, but it may be later.

I have 48 decks...I just counted especially for you! This has been an ongoing collection since 1994 - so 17 years and counting. In that time I've only ever worked with maybe 10 of those (had to count up again for u).and then I've stuck to probably 4 decks for the bulk of readings done for others. I've found that it'll take me a good period of time to start using a deck but once I'm comfy with it, I'll wait until the deck is worn out before I replace it. The thing is, if I really liked a deck after destroying it through shuffling then I would buy another set but for some reason could never use them and would have to get something completely different. I did that with the witches tarot and the egyptian tarot. So don't worry if it takes a while for you to get used to them but then again don't be all that surprised if you can't work with them either. IP: Logged |

Pure sea salt. I did this once when I was going thru a hard time and after it passed I kept getting negative card. So I sprinkled them with just a lil sea salt, left them there overnite and then brushed it off the next day. If u've ever read up on feng shui the chinese say its good for removing negative energy and recommend sprinkling some on carpet and vacuum it the next day. IP: Logged |
