I bought my first deck (Rider Waite) from a new age shop in London (there was no shopping online in the days of yore!) - it could have been in 1995 or 1996.

I remember thinking that it was fairly expensive.

I still have it, the cardboard box is almost intact except for one of the flaps. I've got the little white instruction book that came in the box too.

It's now almost 17 years old....

I can't say my tarot skills have vastly improved since 1995, as I read for myself not very often.

What is the oldest tarot deck that you have?

That you've carried around through college, house moves, periods of employment, unemployment, good times, and bad times?

Wow, you still have it? Cool!

I unfortunately don't still have my first deck. It was one of those Tarot on the Go sets that can be purchased at Spencers, Barnes and Noble, etc. I was 17 then and had wanted to pick up something convenient to carry because I don't use purses.

I actually gave up tarot reading when someone stole my last deck when I was about 21. Last year, my ex was doing some work for someone and the person gave him two different RW decks and I picked up reading again. I currently have a pocket edition of RW cards, another Tarot on the Go set, and a deck of Vegas Queen of Hearts playing cards. I really like small cards lol.

Greetings...

Hello again... been working on my certification as a hypnotherapist in addition to doing my practice cases for Dolores Cannon's method of Quantum Healing Hypnosis.

My oldest deck now is a Morgan Greer Deck that I got in Amherst, MA while visiting with a friend going to school out at UMASS. So I'd say that deck is going on 30 years old.

It is beautiful, and well worn, and now mostly retired. I only use it to read for myself or my close friends. The colors are deep and rich, much moreso than in the decks available today.

I had a Rider Waite deck that was older than that, but I gifted that one away to a friend/student back in the day.

It's like an old friend... but as I say, semi retired, as I don't want to use it for general readings for clients... I have newer decks for that purpose.

Interesting topic!

Blessings in the Light...

A

What type of person steals a deck of tarot cards!! Honestly...

I have a book at home by Cassandra Eason (Psychic Protection, or something like that) and she writes about having her handbag and tarot deck stolen when she was on holiday in Spain.

She went on to say that the thieves would have been disturbed to find that they had inadvertently stolen a tarot deck (Spain being a very religious country) and would have thought it was an omen of some kind!!

Hello, Aselzion. Just re-read your post on the energies in Sedona.

It's not a place I've ever been to. And I have read about descriptions of these energies before but I never quite believed any of it.

I guess I have to go there myself to experience it.

Is it a bit like the opposite of the feeling that you get when you go into a room / space and you see someone you really don't like?

Sorry, went off-topic there.

The Hermes (London) store has a box of tarot cards in the orange Hermes box, I am so tempted to buy it.

But I suppose I need to improve my reading skills before buying designer tarot decks.
