I got this deck today, and since it is very, well, Gothic, I was wondering if I can work with it reliably, and how I can work with it and under which circumstances (questions).
They give short interpretations/ sentences and a spread for a journey to fairyland.
And so I applied my question about working with that deck to the spread, and found the results so interesting I wanted to share them.

1. Way to approach the problem to reach the destination (given in card 6):
"There is nothing she will not do to find out what she wants to know."

2. the journey:
"Resting upon the staff of his power he speaks wisdom to strange beasts.

3. obstacles:
"the fairy measures the good and the bad, tempers the wrong with the right. Creating new life from the shards of death, she maintains the equilibrium of creation."

4 and 5: Dangers if stepping from the path:

"A chained fairy cannot fly. Temptation and addiction are elegant prisons, but the devil presides over both. It is a choice to be free, and a choice to enslave oneself."

"The towers of Faery crumble, and the wolves of winter take posession of the ruins. Castles built of dream have no substance and cannot weather the storm."

6. Destination:
"Beneath the stars the ravens offer wisdom. When all is gone it is hope that remains, and only time and love will bring renewal to the wasteland."

(it doesn`t feel like an "everday-deck", but more for the "november-questions").

Well, at first I thought it would be "too much" and I wouldn´t use it that much, as it is kinda dark". But it turned out that I am using it almost exclusively now. I connect to it quite intensely and it allows me to go really deep inside.

It`s strange how different decks "feel" so different.

Just today I was pulling a card on the meaning of a dream I had about a guy whom I had a crush on 22 years ago, but I still would dream of him. And this dream was rather gruesome again. Very spiritual, too, and I was pretty sure what it meant. But I pulled a card nevertheless and it was the 10 of swords.

A gruesome picture,y es. But it fit the athmosphere of the dream and my reaction to it.

I also liked the interpretation on Lovedove tarot

"Ouch! You don’t want to see this card in any type of reading. Just looking at it hurts. This is a card of unavoidable but necessary suffering.

It’s always darkest before dawn. Things are really at an all time low now and there is no denying it…

Paranoia about your other half could be indicated but your suspicions may be founded in reality too. You are finding out things you really hoped would never happen or your darkest expectations are coming true.

The good news with this card is that there is no way but up. If it doesn’t mean the end of a relationship (which it often does), it does mean the end of something that had to die – hopefully a dysfunctional communication model. If you come out on the other side you have a very real chance of making a go of it.

This energy is different to the 10 of Wands because it indicates that you have really analysed the problem at hand… Unfortunately, your analysis has rendered you powerless to effect change.

*Love yourself, love yourself, love yourself.*

A reversal indicates that you can now see those first rays and perhaps even feel them warming your skin. Breathe deep. It’s finally over. Your relationship is safe. You survived the divorce. Your faith in the opposite sex and love itself has been restored."

The artwork is very dark and dramatic, but it engages me emotionally, which I need to be able to read anything.

EDIT
I think the dream was not so much about the "real Him", but about what he represents or represented in my life.

Since I just noticed the FOOL and MAGICIAN was missing in my first deck, I had to switch.
AS per accident I actually had ordered two of these decks (as if I knew this would come in handy. lol).

I was sad to leave that first deck behind, but I am hoping the other I will be working with well, too.

Actually I was "swapping" the energies of both, and pulled two cards out of each deck (bottom and top), for what is being left behind (old deck) and for what is going to be achieved (new deck).

old deck:

top: 2 of wands
bottom: 5 of cups

new deck:

top: Emperess
bottom: Highpriestess

As I interprete it there actually was a NEED to leave the first deck behind, after a period of waiting and a seed growing. And I like that the Highpriestess came up here in the new eck (and I always like to get the Emperess of course). Maybe hopefully my intuition will be strong with this one.

They sold it with cards missing?

Hmm, I don´t think it was their problem. I had to put the deck on another place than I have it usually some weeks ago, and maybe the cards got lost then.

mmm, Ceridwen, I just can't help remarking how RWS-based it is kind of enjoy how it's reinterpreted. even tho i'm not a massive fan of fantasy/goth iconography, but still whoever designed it did a great job translating the meanings

however, the Knight of Pents leaves me wondering, to say the least (it's almost the opposit of Knight of Pents, lol). would be interesting to see all the cards, of course, to determine which contain proper clues and which might not.

To me, they don't look too dark. Just a tad bit.
