Topic: Feeling the others feelings while reading?

Hi, I did a reading with a client yesterday & for some reason I felt how she felt when she told me why she was there. It was contradictory to how she said it & the feeling entered through my third chakra (the yellow one).
I'm not sure if I forgot my protection, but I generally don't have this.
Any of the other readers experience this?
Why does it happen?
I already always have a great empathy & know how people feel, but now I actually felt it 'enter'. Any thoughts?

What are you doing to feel your chakras? Astral projecting? Meditation? What is it?
Yes i have before, but i dont feel it quite as advanced yet.. its more psychic levels and connection to unconscious

I don't know, has always been a visceral thing for me, it just arises inside. Did you feel like you needed protection against this kind of thing? I have to admit it wears me down sometimes, but I'm used to it. If there's protection I could use against lonely miserable people who love being around me, perhaps I'd throw a party  Also I really really hope you don't mind, but this has to go to through the looking glass (obviously not because "we have to revive it" since we don't have to do anything), as it is a general discussion on divinatory arts x IP: Logged |

No, not that I needed protection from it, but I basically felt their pain.
I always shield myself when reading & I always do pick up the energy & the feel around them. It wasn't a negative person at all. I just felt the 'pain' enter. If that makes sense. It was just different from what I normally pick up. Normally I sense it, now I felt the emotion being transferred to me so I felt it deeply inside my own body. This was 'live' by the way.
I alway use a shield (and do occasional cleansings with a shaman) & I understand what you describe, but this felt like that, but a step further. @karka: I have been doing meditation practices since forever. Depending on what I need I work with the chakra's or other meditations. A lot of grounding as well.

Twirl, this energy transfer can be of any depth OK? So please decide accordingly for future. eg. Once as we were travelling in a car I had this feeling of throwing up several times but I ignored/suppressed it because I didn't want to disrupt things. Finally my guide (spiritual) had the car stopped and threw up. Once my friend's mentor was with her when her legs were aching terribly and she was having difficulty in walking fast. Soon his legs started aching and she was fine. So I hope you are getting what I am driving at........so keep trouble makers like us away as and when you think you are not in a position/mood to handle it.  IP: Logged |

do you think the client wanted you "to feel their pain"? Maybe really wanted someone else to "get it" as in what they were feeling so shoved it on you?IP: Logged |

No, I don't think that was the case at all. I think it happened accidentally and on an energy level. I normally really do understand where someone is coming from as well...
I also noticed when I speak to people who have problems expressing their feelings & kept them in for long my throat plays up & sometimes I had to take a break to get water (& cause of sudden intense coughing :-0 )
What is that all about?
