I'm a bit confused by readings that start with a question about hopes or fears and spreads that have a placement for one or both of these...I guess my thing is, each already implies something negative or positive. So if you get a negative (read: difficult or dark) card for hopes, what does that generally mean? I find fears even more difficult to read for. For example, I got the Hermit for someone's fears. Knowing the context, my gut interpretation was that the person is afraid that they will end up alone even if they don't want to. But then I second guessed it and wondered if it meant that the person fears that they will need to be alone or be happier alone. Anyways, it highlighted something I have seen in other spreads with the fear/hope topic. Thoughts?? IP: Logged |

I hate to sound negative, but this forum can be the worst for getting helpful feedback. I know it takes time for people to reply and I appreciate every second anyone spends answering my questions, but it's a little disheartening. It seems that very few users look at this forum or they just don't participate. Yes, personal readings and astro things are important, but I feel that this is the main place to get guidance about interpretation and technique. Part of that, however, is dictated by how the site is set up, which seems a little arbitrary to me at times.IP: Logged |

The celtic cross may be one of the most commonly used spreads but there are different ways of reading it. In the link card 9 is how you really feel about the situation, in other ones it's hopes/fears as you suggested, also some take it as an advice card. If you think it about it your greatest hope can also be your greatest fear at the same time. You may hope that you get your dream job but fear what it may as far as getting out of your comfort zone, or fear that you're not good enough for the job. You can hope to be with someone but fear they don't want to be with you, or that they'll leave you to be with someone else. IP: Logged |
