I know that many people on LL who do readings tend to pull 3 cards

However, I was reading an article where the person said. Pulling three cards only gives you the past, present and future without much detail.

I have been doing readings for myself with many positive outcomes. Though when I had a reading offer here on LL the person only drew three cards they mentioned that my soulmate would return and that he was coming from a place of love but that we would go our separate ways. That did not seem right to me. She only said that because she saw the 8 of cups. However, with pulling an extra card or two she may have seen that I was leaving with him not that we would be separating. ( I even saw him in my dreams telling me that he would go through all the crap I have to deal with in order for us to be together because he loves me.) So separating just did not seem right as that is not what the universe has been saying.

I think honestly if the reading does not seem right we should pull an extra card or two ( clarification) to make sure we give the correct reading.

I have been looking at the astrology chart for myself and see things coming together and working out very well.

Anyway just thought I would mention this. I know that when I do readings for others I tend to always pull an extra card or two but I believe the other person was right that three cards just don't give us enough insight into the situation. And personally I want to give the correct information when doing a reading it only takes a second or two to pull an extra card.

Edit..... I am not saying the person was a bad reader I just feel that three cards only give us bits of information but not the whole story. I just think that we should ( or at least me) pull an extra card.

Comments welcome.

I personally like spreads a lot. Gives me a very detailed story of what is going on and I'm not a great fan of just the 3 cards. But I think that's personal choice and preference as well and there are a lot of readers really getting the full story with the 3 cards. It will give the answer.
More cards give more details.

I really like the Celtic Cross. But for smaller questions I get good answers with just 1 card (or a second as a clarifier).

I agree that 3 cards will give the answer that we are looking for but interpretation is a different story.
I just think that in order to make sure we are not giving the wrong answer an extra card may need to be pulled in some circumstances.

like I mentioned above the 8 of cups as the outcome. (Leaving a bad situation behind in search of something better) with love returning and then just saying you are not good enough I will search for something better is basically what the reader told me.

However, that was actually not the situation.
The cards were saying something totally different. YES! it gave an answer but not the whole story. Had they pulled a clarification card it would have made the situation clearer. The reader would have then given an accurate reading for the question asked.

I am already in a bad situation so love returning and me leaving with my love is the better situation. So, by pulling a clarifier or even using 5 cards rather than just three the reader would have seen what the cards were telling her.

I agree some of the more seasoned readers can use three cards and do a wonderful job but they know from doing so many readings over time when they need to pull a clarification card or get more depth in order to give an accurate reading it also depends on the question asked if they need more cards or not.

It really depends on how much detail you want. Sometimes you want a simple run down, general overall idea so using less cards is better.

In your case maybe the reader just saw up that part in your relationship and there maybe more after...who knows? How far have things already unfolded?
