I met a guy at a part last night, he seemed to be into me but he's not really my type. I told him I'd help him with work so I'll be in touch with him via fb.

I asked how will our relationship develop (what will happen). As I was shuffling lilies popped out and I put it back and got:
Lilies + Cross + Coffin + Stars + Anchor

I don't get this spread at all! Ideas?

Edit: I'm saying he's not my type at all but also want to clarify that it was actually freaky because he is so similar to me. Studying what I've studied, has similar history to mine and even our grandparents passed a month apart this year...

Karmic! I always find with the cross showing that there is a past life connection..a familiarity. The coffin could be a rebirth, a transformation..a meeting up again ... lilies could mean *old love* but not as in age but ancient (past). Stars again to me feels like fate and that this could mean a steady connection (anchor) for you

What do you think?

Interesting take! I really don't know... I hope that although I'll try to help him with work this won't develop further - maybe that's why the anchor is the last card - after I help with work that's it... but I have a feeling it won't be ...

Hmmm I've been told I was suppose to meet someone this month, hope it isn't him..

Thanks for your interpretation!

heart-birds-star-ship

this made me think he may like to talk to me and even see me (he lives overseas so i took the ship as travel)...i wonder if the star card means he dreams of being with me again? Hmmm not sure about this one

I would interpret the same as you. I associate the moon more with dreams. The stars for me are network, like the internet here. So hoping to contact you electronically as he is living in a different country perhaps?

When I do readings i sometimes get the tower.

I know that it can mean loneliness and isolation as well as protection. But I am wondering since it can mean buildings such as a airport ( ship and tower) court house ect... Can we maybe interpret it as a city with large buildings?

What cards would that be ?

Here is what I found

Location: large building, apartment building, office block, high rise building, shopping mall, border post, watchtower, legal educational or military institution, capital, city centre, upstairs, balcony, high shelf

I think the tower can mean anything having to do with large structures, either as in tall buildings, or official institutions, legalizations, government (and then on top of that the distant/separating/isolating influence)

For me it depends on the question... when I ask for myself and I asked about a job the tower represented the building. In love it could represent loneliness..

I think it will actually be a good exercise for you to create combinations for when the tower means city with tall buildings or when it can show airport etc... That's how the youtube guys do it, they make their own combinations.

Idk if this is the right thread to ask but what lenormand deck is best for a beginner? I just started looking into this and I know the cards should at least be numbered but does anyone know a specific deck that would be good to learn from?

I am not sure I should answer this, as I am such a beginner myself.

But I stumbled across the gilded reverie dreck and simply fell in love.
I always stayed away from lenormand cause frankly thought the cards were borng, but something about that deck just drew me in.
and yes it is numbered. (btw I have the set without the extra cards)

I always enjoy doing my weekly spread - I've done a spread for this week, I'm not sure how accurate it will be because before that I asked about something else and similar cards have appeared now so it could me not shuffling well... but we'll see.

So for this week I got:
Heart + Stork + Book + Garden + Cross

Theme of the week - book - could be secrets, something hidden but I think also education/learning (since I'm still training in the new job).

Heart + Stork - it seems like a new love interest may occur (which is very surprising, because I only go to work and yeah there's no one there...)

Garden + crossroad - decision about a meeting/date? Or two options...

I'll be very surprised if there will a new love interest this week... can't really see it at this stage, but like I've said it could be that I didn't shuffle well...

Is the last card the crossroad or the cross?

BTW in a 5-line spread, how do you interprete the mirrored/ reflected card?
I have so far used them to characterize underlying influences, maybe the inner ones more internal influence and the external pairings more external influences?

In your case that would be:
inner: Stork/Garden
outer: Heart/Cross(road)

Do you use these?
and if so how do you interprete them?

But yes, with the heart i there, something might happen pulling at your heart strings, and with the garden I get the feeling it might happen in public (a gathering, party, event, even a park - or literally meeting someone at a crossroad? )

The last card is the crossroad ( I need to go back and edit it ).

When I do a 7 card spread I look at the mirrored cards but with this spread I kinda ignored it because there's less cards so I wasn't sure.

I also find that the first part of the spread represents the first part of the week, the second part shows the second part of the week... So if there will be someone to interest me it will happen at the beginning of the week which will lead to the meeting at the end of the week.

But yeah I did think about heart + crossroads as me at a crossroads what to decide and an opportunity for a new meeting (stork + garden).

Will be interesting to see...

Thank you for your input

I did an overview over the next week for another person.

cloud - garden - HEART - scythe -mountain

Well this seems very much a week about his love-life or things he loves. But with the cloud, scythe and mountain, I don`t know I just get the feeling there might be a lot of confusion and blockages being around.

I also did a weekly pull for myself

fox - crossroad - DOG - storks - clover

For me the focus of next week seems to be about friendships.
As a matter of fact I am doing a project at work together with a dear colleague of mine, who could be considered a friend.
Besides I have been thinking about two other friends of mine, one I am rather worried about as she did not keep an appointment yesterday and I can`t reach her. And the other one, well I neglected to phone her for a while, due to work, but intend to do this week.
So I can definitely see how this might be about friends, as my friends lately have been a lot on my mind. Also I read that the Dog sometimes can represent a man you know, who as a matter of fact has been on my mind as well, even though he is not a friend.

I wonder if the fox here, instead of being the treacherous one, might be related to work, as our project involves the need to be really smart and use our creative and analytical mental capacities.

On the other hand, maybe I will learn that some friendships are not quite what they seemed, which will lead to making a choice. (or the crossroads just emphasize that it is 2 of us doing the project together in the first half of the week).

For the second half of it, Storks and clover, well not a dramatic picture, but a quite optimistic one. At the end of the week the change that I am expecting is the start of the summer holidays.

What would you think?

I was thinking the exact same thing just nwo!

Usually when I am doing 5 card spreads, I consider the first 2 cards as more recent-past-related and the last ones pointing into the future. But with a weekly overview I think all cards have to do with the coming week, and thus it makes sense that the first 2 are about the first part and the others about the 2nd part.

In a 7 line spread, what meaning do you attribute to mirrored cards?

I'm not sure, I just get more information about the spread, don't really have allocated meaning to them.

I saw you've posted two spreads above I'll try to get my impression of them in the next post

I didn't read your meanings to try not to be influenced (but we might have the same meaning...)

Spread 1 - cloud - garden - HEART - scythe -mountain

Theme - matters of the heart, something close to that person.
At the beginning of the week there will be some worry about a meeting and with the heart in the middle I wonder if the meeting is something very personal.
I'm not too sure about the second part with the scythe there - either can be quick movements, aggression ...
And obstacles with the mountain at the end.
Not a great week...

Spread 2 - fox - crossroad - DOG - storks - clover
Theme - dog - friendship/loyalty
Perhaps you won't be sure about a certain person, you you'll feel like he/she isn't being entirely honest with you and you'll have to make a decision about how to proceed with that person (crossroad).
There would be a new beginning and some lucky break towards the end of the week..

Interesting to see what will happen

St@r,

thanks for your input.
It makes a lot of sense. At least for my spread, as i said, been pondering about friendships, and one friend in particular. Am not sure if she could be a "real" friend or not, so it fits.

As for the Scythe, I usually prefer to see her far far away from the Heart in ANY spread (unless I was masochistic or sadistic and wishing for heartbreak and possible break-up or painful separation-scenarios).
Similiarly I like to see the Mountain and the Tower far away from the heart as well.

Anyway, I did a line of 5 for me, as I was curious about a guy, and just, semi jokingly, asking the cards about his "role" in my life. I mean why has he come into my life (though his role will be just a fleeting moment, a snapshot of a certain time-quality).

Well I pulled

Star - Storks - Flowers - house - Woman

I share this, cause I thought it was just such a nice looking spread. I hardly get these with "serious" questions.

Maybe the why of his crossing my path is just this pleasant nicety symbolized in the flowers. A break from any kind of emotional severity that I apparently needed.
