Actually the vibe I get from these cards is he does and that makes him shy and insecure, unless that's you? I keep seeing The Sun being very outgoing and friendly and bright and nice energy, able to get people to listen to and pay attention to her (Hierophant - an audience). And that brings out his own doubts in his head - 8 of Swords.

I would say that he has issues around self-worth,
and his perspective of how brightly you shine,
