My mother had recently given me The Brotherhood Of Light Egyptian Tarot Deck.I was reading the little booklet that came with it and thought it was rather odd that the swords in this deck where associated with the element of earth and the coins(pentacles) where associated with air.I tried to find out more information about it and I discovered the cards in this deck where supposed to be like that.I also noticed they changed the order of some the major arcana.I was wondering if it would make much of a difference if I interpreted the swords and the coins the way I would with a normally do with any other deck.I am happy to learn to read the coins as if they where swords and vice versa when using this deck.Although if it wouldn't effect the readings I would read them the way I would normally read them.Do you guys think it would be ok for me to read them the way I normally would or do I need to do what the booklet says? Thanks

I have the complete set of these books, they are Hardbound Books that are comprised of Lessons from an old Occult Brotherhood, but many people didn't like them, I think because they didn't hold with Reincarnation.

I do have a set of the Cards, and the Booklet; but I only bought them to complete the Antique Set Collection.

Really cool Emblem.

Thanks for replying Ellynlvx.I didn't exactly know my mother was going to buy that particular deck. She was on holiday visiting my favourite aunt. She was going to bring me something back but didn't know what to bring. So I asked my aunt over the phone the if there was any sort of new age shops the sort of places that would sell tarot cards, pendulums and things like that. She understood the type of shop I meant and said knew one like that apparently a girl she knew
knew a shop.Anyway my mother and aunt went to the shop.Neither of them have any Idea about tarot cards and were debating about what to get.I think it was nearly closing time and my mother wasn't sure what because there wasn't much choice.Apparently she said there where a few other colourful and very suggestive decks so she thought it would be better to go with the The Brotherhood Of Light Egyptian Tarot lol
It does seem like an interesting deck though and I intend to get good use out of.

So Ellyn do you think it would be ok to read the swords as if they were swords and pentacles as if they were pentacles?

I have no idea.

I only bought them to complete the set.

I haven't even looked at them.
