Possibly karmic in someway.

Im smarter than my mother but she's taught me a lot about myself and how I perceive things just from being around her. Like when someone says something and you're like uh-huh...and you come to a realization. I don't see it as always that the teacher is the 'better' one.

The student is usually supposed to surpass the master.
