I was supposed to see someone today and the plans were all set, but they never texted me that they were on their way. We were texting two hours before the time set, but then I didn't hear from them. I didn't bother to reply either.

Of course, I decided to check my cards

Birds - Stork - Ship - Heart - Tower

Still new to the cards, but I would say birds and stork is him and I talking and trying to reach a new beginning... a birth of something sweet since Stork mirrors Heart. Ship is him wanting to hang out but Tower shows the distance.

I feel this is more so just reiterating what happened instead of giving an idea why he stood up? Or could this be read that he went to go see another love interest?

I seldom use mirroring because it takes too long, but reading the cards from left to right... I would argue that perhaps he became engage in a conversation with someone that promised a positive new beginning or resulted in the birth of a new beginning which encouraged him to take a journey. The ship can also represent a physical journey, not just a physical one. So perhaps he this conversation forced him to reconsider something at a heart level which resulted in his movement to see you being blocked (temporarily or otherwise).

Even if I was to use mirroring here, I would still probably argue the same thing.

The conversation that took place resulted in a block, because there was the rebirth of something that was dear to his heart. The main thing is that he was emotionally (or physically) transported or taken on a journey which took him away from seeing you.

Don't jump to the idea of another woman right away.

It could have been something like he got a phone call and maybe his sister had her baby.

Birth - stork / heart - someone he loves, a relationship
Tower - hospital
