I believe he has feelings, and has just realized it, but I also think he's very put off by it, prior he feels he was in control, but now the feelings have taken over. I think soon he will reveal his feelings for her,

Possibly. It may be suggested; however the spread is about the evolution of his feelings, and they seem to grow towards the Empress, which is a form of "the one I want"
