Lol.. I know I'm connecting to my inner psychologist but I wonder why do we like tarot readings and others?

What does it really do for us?

For my part, I don't like surprises. I even prefer watching films when I know the ending. Predictive readings, therefore, are reassuring and help me prepare for an eventuality. This is not always a good thing if the outcome is negative as then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Imagine how readings that predict a short-term relationship would affect your behaviour. This is tantamount to putting negative energy into motion.

Predictive type readings also help with choosing between alternatives : Should I buy this car, this house, is the best school for my child, etc. I need this support particularly when making choices that affect the lives of others.

I also love readings which bring clarity to a current situation. If I am wondering about my own motivations, or I'm viewing something from opposing viewpoints, this kind of reading can be very helpful. But be warned - clarity readings can often give different viewpoints too. Perhaps it happens when the cards want you to make your own decisions using your own intuition.

Generally readings tend to describe you and the situation in positive terms. This is like getting a vitamin shot. It cheers you up and inculcates a brighter outlook. However if my life becomes busy and fulfilling, then readings are no longer needed as a crutch.

So, lots of reasons for wanting a reading.

AstroKeen said it succinctly! Very well said.

I too, don't mind watching movies when I've been told about the ending. To me, the beauty is in how the characters arrive/get to at the end of the movie!

In a world full of uncertainty, it's nice to think that you can have SOME certainty (perhaps) through divination methods.

For me, the main reason is that I like puzzles and archetypes Pallas conj ASC and retro!
