anyway I wanted to try out a 5 line spread like in Lenormand with tarot cards.

8 of swords - Tower - Knight of Wands - Wheel of fortune - Star

In the background having the worst fears and expectations (8 of swords - tower), but then it will all go quite swiftly and an unexpected chance for some sort of healing will present itself?

Star however is a nice card as the result of this event/revelation. Unless it simply shows "clarity" or "night"

well, I think there's a similarity here, quite obvious
You may be right about having some bad expectations or simple worries, and then, once the action starts, something is bound to happen, some sort of clarity bringing healing
I think 5 of wands 8 of cups show the trip and also getting it on, the show, the itinerary, the trip - I don't have negative perceptions about these 2 cards and I often associate the 5 of wands with the arts

I still feel "night" about the 4 of swords as well, and something magical extraordinary happening.
I can't ignore the fact that the combo 8 of sw hanged man 4 of sw magician is also about some sort of revelation, unexpected.

Yes, I can totally see that interpretation for my spread.
Well, I was pulling after reading that thread of Springtimeflower, so I am not quite sure if my feelings about that might have figured in, even though I FELT in the best possible mood for pulling cards: relaxed, curious, slightly detached.
So it might be fitting after all.

It`s funny you pulled the 8 of swords, as well. I remember I once had a reading by Twirl I think, long time ago, for an upcoming concert, where she also pulled the 8 of swords for me. and she related it to be "captivated by the music" and it turned out she had been right. Ever since I have kept that possible interpretation in the back of my mind, and observed that depending on surrounding cards and context, it did come up for being captivated (even by nice things, enjoyment) quite some times. Of course there is also the captivation of the mind through worries and mental anguish.
With the Tower next (which is another card, that has not proved desastrous to me so far, but usually denoting more interesting events) to it, I guess it is more about the mental captivation though.
I wonder though, hmm, a tower experience striking so hard that it pushes (me) out of the mental prison and blindness of the 8 of swords?

I am a little worried already. lol. Mostly worrying about if everything will be alright at home, while i am away (which is ALWAYS a bit of worry for me), but also about the trip, if the partial cancellation really went through, and so on.

I am wary of the 8 of cups, this "leaving-card". lol
But I remember I got it once when asking about my physical transformation, and it told me that this was the good part, the leaving the past behind to seek for something better, something more fulfilling, which did not imply so much a "leaving for good" or friends and relatives, but leaving for the better path, and only leaving those things behind, that are not needed anymore.

yes, me, too.
And I like the 5 of wands as a playful, teasing, slightly flirty card even.
IT`s a fun card.
My Mars in Sag thrives on that kind of goodnatured teasing vibe. Friction creates warmth after all.

4 of swords seems pretty immoveable though, a time out card, nothing much happened, or alternatively taking well deserved rest, and I like the combo with the Magician.

Well not wanting to keep on beating on that horse, but I have pulled some lenormand cards to, curious to see if the night theme comes up.

BTW I checked the interpretations for the combos (too lazy to use my own head. lol)

Fox + crossroad (22): smart decision, shrewd decision, decision about a job
- maybe reducing the trip to just 3 days was a "smart decision"?

Crossroad + lily (30): decision brings peace
- I do feel very at peace with this decision, yes

Lily + key (33): important man, mentor, certainty

Key + man (28): significant man, dependable man

the mirrored cards:

Fox + man (28): workaholic, red-haired man, deceptive man
(so keeping an eye on any redheads then. even though it is not really my type)

Crossroad + key (33): important decision, destiny

So I think I will pull again for your trip, probably tomorrow.

I do however notice 8 of sw with star, with 4 of sw, and magician, definitely relate to an impressive musical experience, so Twirl (with whom I interacted but I think almost just before she stopped coming here) must have been right. It's a great idea about this combo.

Can you maybe ask what the secret is about, that is being to unveiled?

oh and thank you for pulling for me. in case I forgot to mentioned how much I appreciate that.

This intrigues me, mostly of all, cause those readings are strangely "consistent" and pointing into a similiar direction.

It surprises me a little, cause actually I don`t have such expectations about the trip. I mean it is a foreign city, and while I will see Mr Sag on stage in a play, that`s about it.
There will be no communication whatsoever, and well, so how could there any secret be unveiled for me?
And in case it is not about him, I donīt know anyone else there, so, well, I just don`t see it. lol
