I ask because I urgently need to know where in Europe I should go to conduct my research - which will determine the research focus. There are too many contenders and all my academic readings have not provided an answer. So I wondered if I could use tarot.

5 of swords, 8 of wands, Knight of swords

er... does anyone see anything here? 8 of wands shows a rich green glade with a white deer which according to Wiki can be found in Southern Europe.

Or maybe it's saying that I'll find out soon. Perhaps the only way to find out which country is to do a yes/no for each.

5 of swords = harbour and windy
8 of wands = hill, river, not many trees.
Knight of Swords = hill, not many trees.

My guess:
Island, Sweden

Tarot and Geography

Thanks GK. Very useful link .

I asked I ching for a clue a moment ago. What should I focus on: and the answer was Corruption!

"Corruption. Creating success from the source.
Fruitful to cross the great river.
Before the seed day, three days. After the seed day, three days.’

It so happens I googled Seed Day and there is one in Greece in May by NGOs campaigning for Food Sovereignty. That is very much part of my study and an occasion I could work around. So, I may have got my answer .

Greece could also be a hilly place with not many trees.

VG, I thought of Ireland too.

Isnt the picture on the 8 wands an archer? Makes me think of gladiators, i think it was one of the weapons used. Knight of swords maybe also represents like a battle. Also 8 wands is firey card, hot weather?

Just some ponderings

I have the Arthurian Tarot - set in Northern UK, I think - which kinda suggested cool and green.. But yes, in Rider Waite those cards would suggest a Greek theme.

A link : http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kLkVO21TIOU/UPFpozM7dgI/AAA AAAAALiU/emlBzirqNKI/s1600/Legend+the+Arthurian+Tarot+8+of+Wands.jpg

But, then, one could derive a link to farming as the card shows riches of nature.
