Topic: 9 of Swords Upright and Reversed: Both Negative Meanings?

Upright: Depression, nightmares, intense anxiety, despair
Reversed: Hopelessness, severe depression, torment^taken from website So far every time I've pulled this card for myself, both the upright and reversed have represented negative thoughts. so i dont see any difference. 10 of swords reversed can seem more like a recovery and acceptance from some kind of pain since when reversed the swords look like they fall off. but with 9 of swords, the swords are sideways on the wall so it doesn't seem to fall off whether upright or reversed IP: Logged |

I don't read reversals, so I wouldn't know.9oS is mental entrapment. It's better than the 8oS where the entrapment causes the anguish, while in the 9oS it is the mental unhappiness that causes the entrapment. You can get out of it if you want to, it is more of an internal conflict that due to external forces. But for me it sometimes come as a warning card,that something is up, especially if I'm worried about something, it often proves that I have good cause to worry. IP: Logged |

To me the 9 of Swords is excessive worry, blowing things out of proportion in your mind, possibly due to depression and anxiety, not being in your right mind. Being so bothered by something or someone with many negative thoughts and questions constantly going over your head. The situation could certainly be keeping you awake or giving you nightmares. Torment and despair sum it up well too.In the reversed position to me it's getting over from whatever was bothering you. Not being as worried about it as before.
But if it looks to you like the swords are just in opposition then maybe to you it would mean that there is still severe anxiety that is not going away.
It's all about how you see and interpret the cards. And this could change based on the situation and your intuition. IP: Logged |

thank you ill have to see how this month plays out. i pulled the 9 of swords reversed as the main energy for June...so far i definitely relate to the feelings of mental entrapment and being stuck in my head IP: Logged |

now that the month is over, it seems like the 9 of swords reversed for me was about continuous worry and negativity....towards the end there was some release from it but only slightly. so im still iffy about the difference between the upright and reversed. maybe for me the reversed is more intense.
