I’m still learning tarot and would love guidance. I will offer my own interpretation of the spread so it’s clear I am noy asking for a reading- I would love your feedback on my interpretation and how you would go about distinguishing the cards if this were your own spread.

Recently I began a new job. I pulled two separate three card spreads with a final overall card asking what my two superiors felt about me in my new role.

The first card I got for both of them was the King of Cups. At first I thought perhaps this meant they were reserving their own feelings for me . But upon later thinking I think they both see me as the King of Cups- that they see me as someone in control of my feelings, someone who masters her feelings and then acts appropriately.

For his view of me I got King of Cups, 5 of swords, 7 of swords. I think he sees me as someone level headed, capable, and empathetic yet solid about it. Sword set is he sees me as a fighter, someone who can hold her own. The Fool was the final card, which I saw as him seeing me embarking on a new journey.

For her, my ultimate boss, sir was King of Cups followed by 9 of cups, and one more I can’t remember… and then the final was Judgement. So if she sees me also as King of Cups, the 9 of cups would be she sees me as happy in the role or she is happy to have me join the team? (I get confused here clearly!). And Judgement… this was meant to be? Or she’s holding final judgement for later?

I get so confused, and I know the question is always important to come back to. But it’s their feelings about me on the team… so I start twisting the meaning all round.

Thoughts here?

Are the cards standing straight or they are reversed?

Upright cards. No disagreements. In fact, I pretty much know how I’m doing because they’ve both given me very positive feedback to this point.

He is my equal but also my mentor. We have become friends, and I know my boss is happy with me being there.

Then, cards must be wrong. Sometimes they are when you are reading them for yourself, or doing it for too many times. It's better to read for someone else.

So, I'm guessing that you are in a leadership position. King of Cups it's a male card and this shows the they see you as someone in control of her feelings that doesn't get scared easily. With the 7 of swords and 5 of swords together, he thinks that you might act strategic, having some hidden cards, somethings that you don't say, maybe being sneaky, deceitful, and also as intimidating, someone that could create dissagrements and conflicts. Adding the Fool as the final card, this reinforces what has been said before. He thinks you act like a child, or it might be that he thinks that you just started, or maybe he thinks that you are not prepared for this journey. It's about innocence, child-like nature, not considering consequences. He falls off a clif because he is looking at the Sun. So it kind of reinforces what 5 and 7 of swords meant.

Swords are better when they are in reversed, as they shows conflicts, obstacles, trickery, lies, etc, kind of everything in this spectrum.

She thinks that you are wonderful in your job and with the judgment she will have the last say if you are going to continue. With the 9 of cups (I love this card), she thinks that it is like a dream come true and you fit perfectly. Or someone that could make plans turn in reality.

Thanks for your insights! I wish we could get the tarot discussion going more strongly like we do the astrology.

For me the cards are like the Astro charts- not always negative. So I was struggling to work through this one. I don’t feel the cards are wrong, and I don’t feel they are negative. That said, I appreciate the discussion and perspective bcs it’ll help work through my understanding of the cards.
