I have only gotten 200 pages in, but my favorite part so far is the poem "Astrologers Don't Go to Shrinks". It pinpoints exactly how I feel, especially toward religion and the condemning astrology by everyone. For me Gooberz provided all the beginning links, rhyme and reason needed to develop enough trust in studying astrology and the subjects from the schools of mystery ( did I say that right?). It totally changed my perspective and because it introduces you to so many new concepts when you read about them elsewhere they sink in better. I think Linda was able to give a unique insight into metaphysics and love relationships but also a completlely new angle on learning through experience because we get to experience the book and learn from it on different levels. i was totally engrossed in Gooberz, but I also like others had times after i read it when it's meaning seemed surreal but any book that touches your passion is worth the read and as this book did opened my eyes a little more (my third eye also like it says at the back cover of the book) I would recommend reading it all as soon as you can! I thank u Linda..... Mwah kiss kiss Love and light cat from belfastIP: Logged |

Oh, what to say on this topic! I could say alot! quite frankly, "Gooberz" saved my life. I was going through a horrible time during that period in my life and reading Gooberz was like going to an island just for me and Linda and she'd tell me stories while I laid on a blanket in the moonlight. It was my oasis. And yet, it directly affected my life, too. Strangly, as things would develop between her and her love, things would happen the same way with mine. It got very eerie. When I finished it the first time I cried b/c it was over. But I've read it over and over again and constantly get something different out of it. I keep it on my staff shelf here at the bookstore always. LMB IP: Logged |

I felt/sensed more than 'thought'. A soul stirring like awakening memories of a lost past. Rememberance of my childhood of faeries and spiritual pals that was denounced by adults. That if I read it enough times, slowly enough, I truely would remember my own soul songs and WHO Mother Goose is. Like LMB, my feelings on Gooberz could turn into a novella juniperb IP: Logged |

It was like confirmation, awakening and enlightenment. It was confirming to realize I was on the right path (Goobers explained things I had tapped the surface on - many I beliefs I had formulated and come up were identified here). It was the most spiritually uplifting thing - I wanted to share it with the world, but knew it was meant for those only that were ready (and that it would come to them in their own time). I'd have to say it changed me - for the better. It spoke directly to my spirit.------------------ The unseen, the unknown, the mystery - this is what drives me; propels me forward on new journeys as dark corners of my mind are lit with the evergrowing bright light of my enlightened soul. - me IP: Logged |

wow wow wow wowI've been reading Gooberz again I was reading the bit where she meets her twin-self once more in the bookshop,I had all these thoughts in my head about it,and I think I was really reaching out for some kind of magic sign,so I drifted into my local bookshop.I often go in there,I gain so much comfort just from scanning the book spines in the 'New Age' section, and my eyes usually take in our beloved Linda's books in a little row on the top shelf with their(now)uniform matching covers.Only the day before I'd taken down 'Love Signs'from the shelf for a quick check on something as my current incarnation of this book has chosen to lodge itself in the house of a friend who lives a few hundred miles away. Well all this talk of bookshops and synchronistic events, and there I was in a bookshop.I looked up as usual to the shelf-and there-was a huge gap, they were all gone, all of her books, they were there yesterday, who was this mysterious person who had visited the shop and bought the full set of her books(it's only a suburban bookshop with a small new age section)The large gap on the shelf seemed almost spooky. By the way,I'm just trying to be funny there,I have every respect for Linda, and I feel almost certain that her life was not easy at all,I can't even begin to think of the pain she must of been experiencing during the seperations from her twin soulIP: Logged |
