So, you're standing in the grocery line, and the fellow behind you is scanning the magazine racks. "Grrr," he begins. "There's never anything for guys to read, here. Just Ladies Home Journal type stuff!"So, you put on your wise guru hat and say, "Why don't you pick up a copy of "Gooberz"." After he says, "Nah, I'm not in the mood for chocolat covered peanuts. I want something to READ!" .. you explain it's a book by one Linda Goodman. And then he says, "What's it about?" By this time, you've paid for your groceries, and your son is pulling on your sleeve. "I have to use the potty!!!!" POTYY????? Quick ... give a 30 second answer to "What is it?" ------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

I think Linda says it best on the back of the book. It's a love story about death, religion, and astrology ... something to that effect. I personally tell people it's a magickical adventure. Heidi IP: Logged |

My definition of Gooberz would be that it is a journey within yourself. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

To me, it's the greatest love story ever told, immortal, transcendental and everlasting. Its theme is love, the storyline is about love, it's made out of love, it's written with love to those with love and to those who seek love. It is love. That's why we love it IP: Logged |

Sometimes, "I love you" just requires more explanation. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Im glad i found this thread. Everytime someone would see me carrying around Gooberz they would ask me what it was about and I could never think of just one answer and definitely not a 30 second answer. Now that i have time to think about it I would say gooberz is a love poem, one that will help you understand yourself and others ¢¾IP: Logged |

It is a story about magic that comes to life when you read it, it is about love. It is one of the best books ever written.by this time if we had not made it to the potty there would be a clean up in Aisle 1 IP: Logged |
