The other day I ordered all of linda's books from amazon.com. Yesterday I received gooberz. I had wanted to read them in order, but figured it was a sign that I should start with gooberz. anyway, I flipped through the book and thought "oh no, a poem, how boring this will be!" boy was I ever wrong. I could not put down the book until 3am when I could barely keep my eyes open anymore. And I actually was in tears over dadoo's death! This book is so moving.

Me too! I had been looking forward to Gooberz for years and I finally got my hands on it and I opened it up and I was dissappointed when I saw the form. But Then I started reading it and REALIZED!!!

I tell everyone to just read Canto One. They are all hooked by then.

Guess you finished. You should start on Star Signs.

I started Gooberz two nights ago, its so good! I fly through the pages, so i guess thats a good sign. I'm on canto two, which a lot of people say is the saddest one, and i guess it is, because of.. well.... i shouldnt give it away for those who are still on canto one or haven't read it yet. but its a great book, although i can't really identify with anything yet because nobody i know has ever died (for which i'm thankful for!). anybody want to discuss canto two while i'm still on it? or canto one?

Might be best to go to each Canto string to discuss them. Boy are you in for some surprises.

I think I mentioned this before, but I had a similar experience when I first got GOOBERZ....

I walked into the bookstore very excited at the prospect of finally getting this book ...

I bought it!.....and merrily skipped out the door with my new treasure...*sigh*....

I quickly got into my car, as I was anxious to take a peek at Linda's GOOBERZ...so once in the car, I open the much waited for book, and started reading.......

Well now...what's this??? ..... disappointment starts to set it, cuz it looks like a "poem" to me... ONE BIG LONG POEM!!! ....in a big huge book!!! Oh gosh! I don't get into poetry that much....

..so....

I walked back into the store, book in hand, and returned it.....getting my money back (twenty some dollars, I don't remember now)....

Next day a gal who also had the book ask me if I bought it, and how I liked it so far....and I sheepishly explained to her, what I did....

"You didn't?"

She was horrified!

She begged me to go right back and buy it again, and guaranateed that I wouldn't be disappointed.

So I did...and she was right....I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! (and to think I ALMOST missed reading this wonderful book!)......

I've since read it a couple more times, and am about due to read it again....

It was magic to experience with Linda, the very depth of her emotions...her joys, her sorrows.......WONDERFUL BOOK!..

When she died, I felt like I'd lost a best friend....and I did...*sigh*

Love,
Rainbow

I put off reading for years for the same reason, and then one day I finally dived right in, and my Life was never the same again.

After Canto One, I knew right off that Gooberz wasn't the confusing poem I thought it to be.
