Any of ya'll able to see auras?
If you are, how'd it start?
Was it an all of a sudden, full-fledged thing, or kinda gradual?
I ask b/c I've had this weird thing creeping up on me: when I'm in a lecture or something, I'll be minding my own business and then it looks like there's this translucent-ish line around people that extends a few inches.
There's no colors or anything, it just sort of distorts things behind it.

I'm curious as to whether I have a serious vision disorder creeping up on me, or if it could be something else.

Proxie,

I see what I think you're describing... a silvery gray outline around a person that extends out a few inches. (My vision has always been perfect...keep eatin' those carrots!) What we're seeing is what they call "the ethereic" which is right before the aura. So someday soon, we'll be able to see the colors!! Can anyone back me up on this theory?

I went to a new age shop the other day, and they had a form of Kirlian photography, which Linda mentions in Star Signs. It photographs your aura, so I did it! It came out on a Polaroid, and they gave me an interpertation of the main colors. It was cool!

Love and snugglebunnies,
Katee

When I have class after work and my eyes are tired from the computer all day and just because I am tired, I see something around the teacher or people far away. I always thought it was that I needed my glasses fixed. People always told me my aura was green when I would ask them.

Katee yep u're right about the outline being etheric. You see it not only in humans but everything! On the tv, all objects and when u're tired it seems the vision is better.. funnny that something to do with concentration without even concentrating or just being relaxed and GOING WITH THE FLOW. I see it too
Proxieme I can't see auras yet but if we can see into the etheric then sure the next step is the auric.
Does anyone know a person who is blind?
Blind people are more sensitive to the other senses which goes to show I think that seeing auras has less to do with sight and more to do with sense-itity, since blind people don't see u but can easliy pick up on when u are near.
Just as a matter of interest... if anyone knows anyhting about being blind, what kind of dreams does a person have if he/she has never seen anything physical before... ?Always wanted to know that.

Cool ya'll! Thanks for the information!

Katiebull -
Yeah, I had my done, too, on a whim a few years ago. Mine came out...hmm...do you use Internet Explorer? See the star that marks favorites? That color, and then white closer in. How'd yours come out?

Fajita -
Cool, that's exactly what's been happening with me; and rest assured that it's not b/c you need glasses - I have 20/15 vision

Quinnie -
OK, good, because I've seen it on other things, too. For the most part it's been with other living things and, curiously enough, electronic or mechanical objects, especially when they're moving.
Before I even saw it around people, I noticed that when I was sitting a stoplight and zoning out/looking into the distance, the cars that passed in front of me would have an off-greyish-white thickish, fading-as-it-descended wisp-thingy following and extending in a diagnonal from their rear that would disappear as soon as I focused. At first I thought it was just "color trail" or something, but it's the same with each vehicle.

Coolbeans. I guess we all look forward to auric sensitivity pert dern soon.

Proxie,

My aura had two distinct shades, the first was the color of this little guy here

goldeny yellow above my head (that was interpreted as intelligence and high thought activity, which is true...I always have a thoughts going a million miles an hour-sometimes I think Merc in Gemini is a curse!)
and the second color was this green

to each side of me, which was explained as "the teacher", which really struck me, because a medium in my church came to me with a message "it is time for you to teach", and a traumatic phase of the past in a weird way defined me as a teacher, and if you lexi my birth name, the words "teacher" and "healer" are in there. So I am going to college now to be, you guessed it, a teacher. But recently I have been debating what it is that I should teach. I don't know my direction. Formal teaching? Or something spiritual? I feel like everyone knows so much more than me about everything, what could I possibly teach them?

Sorry, I'm getting off the topic.
Yours was that deep blue and white? Awesome!
Did you get an interpretation?

I've never had anyone read my aura before! I wonder what colour it is. It would be interesting to know.

Very cool.
Don't worry, there'll be something - after all, you know more about auras than me .

But, nope, not deep blue. I guess we have different icons. It's that same yellow as yours and white, but I didn't get an interp.

Ahgeh, tired from work; signing off.

I just took the "aura quiz" on the Free For All forum that Amber posted and the answer reminded me that when I had my palms read on my birthday the reader told me that I had a purple aura.

I haven't been able to read them though. I have, when I have been concentrating on certain people and working with candles seen, I guess, auras around them. However I don't know the meanings of the colors. My twin soul always shows a red aura right around him and a dark blue one surrounding that. Other people have different colors.

It's all about training: http://www.thiaoouba.com/seeau.htm
When on holidays recently I sat down on early, quiet mornings and stared at a tree for ages untill I managed to see the aura. But who the heck has the time for that normally, I mean, just to sit down and stare at something?
Katiebull, your Jupiter in 10th will make you a great teacher, maybe you should use the Neptun energy and teach something Neptunian: Film, photo, dance, music...?
Quinnie: I just read about an Irish woman, blind and psychic, who said that despite never having been able to see anything in her whole life she could still "see" - describe a red dress, the look of a person, a special place etc. etc.

Stella Polaris I just read your post properly there!
Well that just shows you how the mind is the creator of all reality, she didn't need physical sight to see.
that must be how an artist paints, creates things that aren't there physically through the use of the other senses.
She must have really heightened her other four or five senses.
I know of another Irish clairvoyant woman also who is blind I think from birth and she sees things of the physical through other realms too.

Heeey, I forgot about this thread -
Thank you Jupiter

I haven't seen the etheric prolly for a few months now, but I haven't been looking. Life, is...life is life. I've been letting some parts of it get in the way of the parts that matter, I guess.

Stella - Thanks for the link to that site; I'm looking through it now.

Eternal - That's really awesome -
I don't me "awesome" like, "Dude, that's liiike, totally awesome!!!", but like, "Wow - that sounds like it inspires awe."

Although I fall back into it pretty quickly, apparently

After looking at the first image on this page: http://www.thiaoouba.com/aura_eye_exercise.htm
I saw the surrounding color in almost no time at all And I saw something around the black dot, too.

Aaand this is pert dern cool, too:

Experiment to see your own astral body : Make both your index fingers nearly touching each other, preferably in font of a dark, matt background. Black background is OK. Look between fingers and around them and note, that the background close to your fingers is brighter. A bluish transparent and slightly shining glow responsible for this is actually a part of your astral electronic body. By joining your hands you close an electronic circuit, making the astral body more visible. The shape of your electronic astral body follows closely your physical body. Some people have their astral body quite strong and shiny, extending 10 mm or more beyond their physical body. Typically, 2-4 mm is considered average for a healthy person on Earth.

I've always randomly seen this around my hands and fingers. I'd reach over to turn off a light or have my hands resting on a book or by the wall, and there it was.
Abso-flippin'lutely wild.

I used to practise for a few nights till I could see the green aura of the red pillow and yellow aura of the blue pillow which i had. But then i haven't succeeded in seeing the human aura yet, which is harder because people are constantly walking around and it's hard to stare at them without them staring back at you!

Yep, I see them! When I was a child my mother had my eyes tested cause she thought that something must be wrong with them cause I kept telling her about the colors I saw around people, animals, and objects. As you can guess, this confussed the eye doctors since they found nothing wrong.

I still see them but it is so normal to me that I have to be asked by someone before I really pay attention. When a person is ill the aura in the affected area is dark and often black in color. I hardest for me is a person who is depressed, their aura is difficult to look at, spikes of color allude to what they are feeling.

Anyone else? It has been interesting to hear what you all have to say.

My cosuins and I saw it when we were younger. Our parents use to take us to a lady who would meditate with us and teach us stuff. She taught us how to concentrate. A trick with the lamp. Mines was yellow. my cousins was light blue. They were beautiful. I'm gonna practice again.

Prox,
I saw a dramatic aura once about three years ago. I haven't been able to do it since; I think alot has to do with your state of mind and mine hasn't been really positive lately.I think to see a full-blown aura you need to be in a positive, loving, spontaneous state.

The day before I saw the aura, I was feeling pretty lonely and really wanted to have someone in my life. I did the typical balling and crying poor me routine. Finally after I was so exhausted crying I thought to myself that what I was doing contradicted what my church taught. so if I would send positive thoughts and light and focus on the possiblitiy of someone being out there for me, it should manifest. I stood in the darkness and pretended I was a lighthouse (yes I know I'm weird) and I sent out pink light from my heart chakra. I envisioned it traveling outside across the street and beyond. I kept turning slowly at projected pink light in all directions. I asked that I meet my soulmate now or someone who would give me a message of hope and possibility. 12 hours later at church the next day, I started talking to this man I had a huge crush on. We could never really get a good conversation going and I ended up doing one of those looking beyond soft focus things (you know when your thinking of something else you kind space out.) I noticed that his face seemed transparent as if a light was inside a jack-o-lantern. Pink light slowly started glowing outward from his face. I could see a spot near his left temple that was slightly more coral in color. It extended about4 inches and the light kept expanding outward. Streams of white light slowly started eminating from his eyes, nose, and edges of his mouth like thin streams of smoke. I realized that the light traveled more slowly through the bone and quickly and more detailed through the "holes" of the face.I wanted to put my finger across the bridge of his nose to see what would happen to the streams of light, but I didn't dare.I sat there analyzing the whole thing and didn't mention it to him.
Needless to say it was unbelievable, but I still needed to ask and eye doctor at my church if I could have some physical problem or maybe that guy did. I went to new age bookstores to get info on auras and only one of a tons of books described something similar to my experience, the rest mentioned sitting against a white wall and focusing your eyes beyond. They gave cookie cutter meanings to auras and I was then convinced that most people who have written these books have never really really seen an aura. The problem with this technique is that you tend to see an optical illusion and think it's an aura. Being an artist, I know alot about color and know when I'm seeing a (minor) aura or not. Basically if you see the opposite color or value (light and dark) it's just the cones of your eyes doing it's thing. For instance if you stare at dark red long enough you'll see the opposite, light green. So if your hair is dark brown and you seeing a light glow around your head, it's an optical illusion. (I've seen "minor" auras this way, colors like green, blue, gold, violet.)The standing against a white or black background is a good exercise, but not the best. I think developing an attitude and mindset is more of a sure thing. and I'm not great at this because I haven't repeated this.
I think the streams your seeing from objects might be an aura/etheric or it could also be heat. Most people can see heat coming from the pavement of a road on a hot day. But the same streams come from most everything in a smaller way. Do you see this coming from a cool object?
Take care, Hope this helps somewhat

I think I might have seen my aura...i was looking at my hand sideways, and then a bright yellowish liquid was outlining my palm...maybe it was something else? Hmm...Katiebull, you can teach kindergarteners--and teach them about spiritual things. Kids are much more...nicer whne it comes to those things, and it'll help the children more. And you can spend quite a bit teaching them about magick, and bringing in rocks and corals and showing them lexigrams and all that--I wish I had a teacher who did that! Oh maybe kindergarten it too young....first grade? But then you have to take into account the parents who might get angry at you for showing the children things...oh...eh...never mind then...lol...either way, luck with your journey.
