Sometimes they are not so direct. Has anyone ever taught you anything that later became of urgent importance? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." gu·ru a. A teacher and guide in spiritual and philosophical matters. b. A trusted counselor and adviser; a mentor. I have to say, then, that my guru is Marian Gold. He's the singer of Alphaville. http://www.alphaville.de
Most of my sigs are Alphaville songs. ------------------ she knows that the pavement's hard, there between the stars to travel on to martian homesick city ..she is weeping silently but there's not a tear just raindrops falling from the painted ceiling ..the dance of the foraging bee will number all the things she has been longing for all of her life since she was young .. yes, carol wants to go to mars, back where the red-cold sun is sinking to the channels of a'daar

The syllable 'Gu' means darkness, the syllable 'Ru' means 'Dispeller. So the word 'Guru' would mean 'the one who dispels the darkness of ignorance.' For me,a guru is one who you can love, trust and say 'yes' to. He is on the path that you are most comfortable in, just ahead of you, lighting the way, with your hand firmly in his/hers. I had one...but he left me. He opened The door for me and I believe that this was his mission(with me). You don't have to worry 'cause when the disciple is ready, the Master appears. I think we have to be open to the idea of wanting a teacher and to at least have started to let go of our self/egos. Linda has several passages in Star Signs which discuss her Guru. Hopeful IP: Logged |

I am of the mind like Mr. Coons at the EarthChakras site. I guess this is where I disagree with Linda. I don't believe you need a guru to become Immortal. In fact having a guru or seeking one out might prove to be a big loss of your energy. And what if your guru is not an Immortal? Hmmm?IP: Logged |

I like the definitions/descriptions on GURU provided. I think our first and foremost GURU that sticks and stands by us is our Higher S-elf: GGee UYou RAre UYou. I mean, we're bonded for infinity with He/She and they with us. My Higher S-elf is definitely one of my spiritual guides, trusted completey. If I don't have any other like that in my life, I still have my very own GURU - me. I don't recall Linda stating that you had to have a GURU to become immortal... did she? Anyway, if one is his/her own GURU there would be no energy wasted on searching. And what Jakie said: "when the disciple is ready, the Master appears" My mom is one of my GURU's... she's taught (helped me remember) me much and gives wonderful motherly advice. eternal
