I was sitting in a large lecture hall tonight, when I realized that I was seeing what has been described in some other thread floating around here as the etheric around the speakers.
I relaxed my eyes and looked beyond them (thinking, "Hey, maybe I can go whole hog and see an aura or two,"). The intensity and size of the etheric increased (although it acutally looked dark against the dark stage curtain that was a behind it - no, I wasn't looking at the shadow cast, unless shadows have taken to undulating; just to be sure I did check, and the shadows on the stage were being cast onto the floor.)
I stopped after some time, and noticed that the area that I guess corresponds to the "Third Eye" (above the bridge of my nose, in between my eyebrows to slightly above that spot) was sore and even a bit swollen - it's still a little painful to the touch. I don't think it's anything like muscle strain; it feels like it's just beneath that (not in intensity, in location).

I have proxieme. Looks like your pineal gland is getting a nice workout!!  WONderful!! I too have had a bit of soarness in the area of the third eye after a deep concentration and seeing an aura or an etheric body surrounding a person or thing...

Interesting!! Was what you saw a dark aura or simply the energy moving around a dark ground?
I saw an aura once without trying. He was sitting a couple of feet away and as I softened my focus, it was as if a light was shining inside his head like a jack-o-lantern. His bones and skin seemed transparent. Pink light slowly eminated from his head and I could see very well defined white lines of light coming more quickly from his nose, mouth, and especially his eyes. The eyes almost looked like a starburst. I watched the rays cross over the bridge of his nose like streams of smoke. I've seen some colors around people's heads before, but never this defined and dramatic.Fortunately,I knew what I was looking at and did not freak out. It was pretty dramatic.I don't recall ever feeling strain in the third eye area. I think it was more of a light peaceful calm and I almost blank everything out. I was at a time when I was feeling really good about myself when I saw it. I can't describe the feeling exactly, but when I get this (not very often) I get great intuitive insights. I only wish I knew how to get this state when I want it. I'd like to see auras more frequently but it's a rare occurance. Do you know what feeling I'm talking about? Do you know get this more often and see auras more frequently?IP: Logged |

eternal - Awesome blossom  Thanks for the encouragement (and the verification that I wasn't just imagining things).
If you have some extra time lying about, could you tell me about the progression of development of your ability to see auras?
Kat - That's really cool, really intense; I bet you're glad that you knew what was happening I haven't had anything that intense happen - I'm just still seeing etherics. It seems to be progressing, though. It started out that I'd just see this upward sloaping white trail from (believe it or not) moving cars (any color, any size, as long as it was daylight). I've begun to see etherics around people, which at first just seemed surrouding distortions, but seem to be becoming more substantial (and my seeing them is becoming more frequent).
I think that they were just dark b/c of the background; they were lighter than it, but still primarily distortion-y.
It's not really concentrating that gets me there, but, like you said, a "softening of focus" - but I still had the strain on my head.
Re: the intuitive insight: I haven't had enough experience w/ auras to speak to that, but apart from that I do have moments when I "just know" something that's to happen/has happened, or have known just what someone was thinking (it's like my brain clears and I...well, "just know"...that's about the best description); but it's not frequent or reliable enough to call anything - and, it's usu. about mundane stuff (I doubt a flash of insight would ever come to me regarding the war w/ Iraq, for instance).
DanitaFajita - Do you have any large lecture classes? That's a good place to practice, because most of the other students are staring off into space, too.

Thanks for the reply proxieme. It seems that the softening of focus and clear mind have something to do with seeing auras and getting insight. Most of my insights are also about day-to-day stuff. every now and then I get something more dramatic, nothing global either. Or if I do I never put the two together.Maybe meditation is the key to seeing auras more ofter. If you ever find any other ways of seeing aura let me know. IP: Logged |
