I tried it once, and I believe it could work, but if done from time to time, combined with other spiritual and physical excercises what would help you develop and harmonize other chakras as well, since it is silly to aim that high without a background.

But I definately agree with a fact it happens spontaneously, when you're ready.

As with everything in the metaphysical realm... be careful what you ask for - you WILL get it.

Opening the 3rd Eye is not something to be taken lightly. It will happen on it's own, when you are ready for it.

Any attempts to raise the kundalini or open the 3rd Eye should be attempted only under the guidance of a physically present initiate. The student will also ideally be of sound mind (read no drugs, alcohol or smoking), sound body (read in good health and free of chemical/food based toxins) and sound emotional state (read well balanced and free of mind altering substances or unresolved psychological/psychiatric issues).

Premature attempts to raise kundalini or open the 3rd Eye before one is READY on all those levels, can result in madness or worse. It would be kind of like being bombarded from all directions with sights, sounds, feelings and sensations that you are unable to decipher or process all at once.

As Quinnie mentioned, acts of kindness will go a long way in developing the SPIRIT, and that will lead to a gentle and natural opening of the Third Eye. Other techniques will get you there slowly and surely such as Spiritual Tarot study/meditation, meditation, various forms of yoga etc.

We are too often led down the primrose Path in the New Age, believing that we can (or even SHOULD) be able to do certain things quickly and without much muss or fuss.

Raising Kundalini or Opening the Third Eye cannot be accomplished in this manner... but with a sincere desire to do it, and a gentle approach as outlined above will bring these developments or rather UNFOLDMENTS, in due time and when the seeker is ready.

Remember, one can function at a fairly advanced level WITHOUT having forced the opening of the Third Eye, nor the raising of the Kundalini.

Be Patient and Fear Not. You are not seeking to DEVELOP something that you DO NOT HAVE, but rather working toward the UNFOLDMENT of what already lies within, and will happen naturally and safely on its own.

Not trying to be scary... just trying to let people know that trying to speed along unfoldment without the proper groundwork can be... well, a wee bit messy.

I have heard a theory that the phenomenon known as Spontaneous Human Combustion, is related to a sudden raising of the kundalini by unsafe practices in unprepared individuals.

I do know that a Teacher of mine experienced a little taste of the electrical nature of Kundalini Rising quickly while she was taking a Yoga class. The Kundalini shot up her spine and out her Third Eye, knocking her to the ground momentarily before the teacher was able to help her deal with what was happening. It was an experience she often says she could have lived quite nicely without.

Again, don't be afraid, just know what it is you want to accomplish, and do it safely. As has been said, it will also happen on its own, when the student is ready.

Someone pressed on my third eye (acupressure force) while I was in an altered state of consciosness several years ago. I became very ill and got pushed around. That was four years ago. The life I lived is gone, the work, the social ability and my health And the woman who did it did not take responsibility even tho she had worked on me for many years but I never gave her permission to do such a thing. It ruined my life and no one understands --- course it doesn't matter I have no contact with anyone except two people.

Could you give me some sources to read more specifically about this? Something not too difficult? I would appreciate it.

I can physically function better than I could (but that's all relative) but I have had to face it...I'm out of the race of life.
