In Linda's Star Signs book she does'nt split the letters into the five core numbers often associated with a reading, does anyone know why she does not do this? I have read so many books that feel a reading is best achieved by splitting our names into vowels and consonants, does anyone does how this theory came about? Thanks. Ele IP: Logged |

Because that's Pythagorean numerology. Linda didn't like that version and preferred the Chaldean method. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." But I have two other books based on the Chaldean method and they use the five core numbers, why didn't Linda/or you think that the vowels and consontants bring an added dimension to a reading? Asking this however I do think the pythagoras books are a bit repetitive, saying exactly the same for a 5 soul, for example, as a 5 destiny .... I do have more faith in Linda's interpreation, I have to say, though I think some of her readings are a bit harsh. I think the philosophy that there is a balance in numbers as in life is true, not one number is all positive or all negative, which I think Linda would disagree with, if you look at the likes of 11, 16, 18 etc ...Look forward to reading your comments Take care Ele IP: Logged |

I don't think Linda would use the term "negative." Some numbers are more challenging than others. Some are indicative of Karmic rewards, but that doesn't mean they will pave the way to good fortune. Great numbers can make us lazy, while challenging numbers can lead to greatness. It all depends upon one's perspective. But a more pleasant vibration can give us a push in the right direction, which is why Linda said to change the vibration of one's name. That way, numbers become a tool to be used to help us achieve success. It's sort of like Saturn. No one would call Saturn a negative Planet, but we can choose to confront the challenges or to resist and learn the hard way. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hello Elewolfe...In the Chaldean System, there is only the name number and the interpretation of the DAY of BIRTH. Although occasionally they would add the entire Birthdate to create a secondary influence, that was not part of that original system... those that use what you call the Core Numbers, are using Pythagorean techniques with Chaldean Numerology. Both systems work! And as you say, most repreat the meanings of the numbers whether they represent the Soul Number, The Destiny number or what have you. This must be the case, as a number means what it means! You must take the initiave to interpret the numbers when they hold a different "Core" position, and that is the ART of Numerology. All numbers have their positive and negative meanings... or if you prefer their Love based and Fear based manifestations. We live in a world that thrives on the blending of opposites; on duality. When we become Evolved, we learn that there is ONLY Truth, and the Truth of UNITY will "set us free". Hope that helps a wee bit. Peace and Light.. A IP: Logged |

Thanks to you both for taking the time to answers my questions, I have a better perspective now. I think both systems have their place but I think its strange how the Chaldean is considered more accurate yet the Pythagoras reigns! I was wondering, if you follow the original method where the vowels and consonants are not included, have you found that you have missed relevant information when you have not used this method? And have you gained an alternative perspective of the numbers from other sources? Thanks Ele IP: Logged |

Greetings...Actually, I use both methods. I find that this helps to shed light on some of the subtleties that aren't conveyed by either system alone. And sometimes you find that despite the differences in the numerical value of the alphabet, some names add up to the same numbers, and I think this is also significant. (for example, the name ADAM is 1+4+1+4 = 10/1 in Both Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology.) I also combine Numerology with Astrology and occasionally Qabalistic interpretations when that seems indicated. Another thing that I do, that I don't see talked about much is ADDING the NAME numbers AND the DATE numbers together... as an Astrologer, that only makes sense to me. Hope that helps a bit...
