I wanted to know if anyone else has this experience. I'll sometimes hear a song from the twenties and thirties or something or I'll look at the ice water in my glass or a bowl of raspberries in a commercial or something else and I'll have a flashback or something and it seems that those things put me in mind of something but it's so quick or vague that I don't really remember anything about it. I only feel a dull ache for hours or days or whatever afterwords, and I'll feel like there is something that I can't remember. It's a dull aching that makes me sad but it makes me happy too, and I feel more myself and calmer and really more like myself. how about somebody else?

Hi Silverbells,

I have a similar experience when I smell bleach. For some reason, I hate that smell and it always makes me think of the 60's and being at a huge outdoor concert, like Woodstock or something. It is very bizarre. It bothers me so much that I can't have bleach anywhere in my apartment.

In my opinion, these are unconscious memories being evoked. The memories are either from this life, or from a past-life (or a future one!). When I hold liquid in my mouth, which I do a lot unconsciously, and realize I am doing it, I remember the desert and bits of my life there in a past-life - Egypt and Persia.

I think that it IS past lives. Because some of the stuff just couldn't be from this life. Does anyone else feel sad when this happens though?

I had similar feelings and flashes when I was in high school, and in a World History class, when we saw many images of the World Wars -- especially the scenes of the trenches in Europe. I've had to conclude that they're from a past life, or lives -- the feelings and flashes had no logical relationship to anything I'd experienced in my current life, at that time. It was far different and much more profound than connecting to or identifying with an external stimulus (empathy, or sympathy, or art).

It was quite powerful, with a lot of grief, and a kind of awakening for me. It did become less overwhelming over time, but then again, I don't subscribe to the History Channel (not deliberate, I just don't have cable! ). I have since received confirmation that that has been a karma of violence in my past lives, that has been cleared in this one, once I dealt with my fears of it.

I sure hope it was not a memory from a future life -- we've all experienced warfare throughtout the ages, unfortunately, and our world is very much still at war -- but many of the reactions I had were specific to these wars. Images from Korea, Vietnam, or other wars don't evoke these flashes.

silverbells, have you considered a past life regression? Or trying to learn more about this past life of yours, through your dreams, and a dream journal? I found regression very satisfying.

Hey! I have considered a past life regression. However I know someone who guided people through their own regression using ?water hypnosis? Anyway, I never got around to doing it and plus, she told me that doing this would open some spiritual doors that I might not be ready to deal with and she did suggest that I wait awhile. This person has since moved out of the area though (maryland) and so I don't know when I am going to get that oppurtunity again. And I am not sure that I want someone else to do it for me because won't they have access to my energy? How would I learn more through my dreams? And how would I learn more period? How did you feel after your past life regression? Did you look at the world differently did you have a sense of enlightenment or something? What happened?????
YOu know what else, when I used to smoke the ganja, this one time I was having some "oneness" with my boyfriend and I closed my eyes and we were in a different room and he was in a soldier's uniform with a sword at his side and I was wearing a froofy skirt. I think that we were in France. And there was an 1800's (or one of those centuries) feel to the whole thing. Especially the look of his uniform, it wasn't modern. I didn't see his face though. Incidentally, he's in the Army Now blowin reverie He really is, I just decided to make a joke with the lyrics. Eeh.

I haven't had these, but have had many dejavus and some dreams were pretty cool. But one thing that happens fairly consistently is when I talk to someone I haven't met before, and they ask "are you South African?" I've recieved this a fair bit and have concluded that I may have been in a previous life, but don't really feel the urge to follow this through...

I regularly experience flashes and reminders that I believe are from past lives. I've also had a past life regression and remembered 2 lives...seeing several people who are with me in this life. It answered many questions I had about my present life, and helped me to understand better the reason I'm here now... and the karma I have with certain people.

I'm also drawn to certain places geographically, like New England, Italy and Ireland...where I probably lived before because I haven't been to any of these places in this life. Sometimes I have dreams of being in these places and when I wake up it felt so real that I'm pretty sure it was a "memory". Even the house I am living in now...I was immediately drawn to (after looking at dozens of other, newer and bigger ones). I "fell in love" with it, and felt at home there right away. It was built almost 70 years ago, so who knows?

Really, never felt the urge? I want to know rather badly. I always fall in love with antique things especially lamps and beds, I'll feel a sense of elation and no other newer, or upgraded thing will do.
