does ANYONE ever feel like they have two people living inside their head?! Now.. I don't mean in the dangerous scary way. I just mean it seems like I have two sides that are so completely different from one another.

I guess this came up when I was responding to a thread over at Astrology about decorating. Right now my apartment is generally happy and celestial/cherub/fairie... but there's this side of me that's like "Throw it all out! paint the walls black! pull out the skull candle holders again! Pull out the black blankets and pillows! Pull out the Giger paintings!"

ARGH!

My hair's been brown for a month or two and I've sort of liked it and then I look in the mirror one day and it's suddenly I just HATE it and wonder what the hell I've been thinking. Totally sudden change of thought.

am I insane?

Hi WOA

All I can say is, if you're "insane" then I am too! I know just how you feel, but then again being a Gemini having two people living inside my head is the "norm"...whatever that is.

When I was a kid, in my teens and into my twenties, this was very pronounced: one minute all I wanted to do was curl up with a good book in my room; the next I just had to go out with my friends and do something. And my hair...with me it was not so much changing its color, as its LENGTH. On more than one occasion I impulsively took a scissors to my long hair and lived to regret it, lol. Then there were the moods. I could go from a pleasant little sweetheart to a frightful b***h in no time flat... Same with my room as a kid...and later with my home(s). I was big on changing colors of walls and trims (a lot)...changing window treatments (frequently)...rearranging furniture (often), etc. I would just want to change the entire "feel" of a room and wouldn't rest until I was finished; then not long after I wanted to change it again. Whew!

Thankfully...I have settled down somewhat, though the opposing influences will always be with me to some degree. I am always doing one kind of home improvement or other, but on a smaller scale now. My hair, I'm pretty much satisfied with, though I do still go from letting it grow to taking a few inches off when the mood strikes me, lol. I am more content now to remain in one place...so now I get to witness my Gemini daughter doing the same things I used to do. (!)

I've spent a good deal of my later years trying to integrate my two sides, with some success, but only some. My moods do still tend to change dramatically; only not as frequently, and at least being aware of the tendency, I can usually get control of them before they get control of me!

I don't know your age or sign...but whatever they are, I don't think you should worry too much about feeling like there are two people living inside your head. I'd like to think we all have many facets to our personalities...and we are always growing, so always changing. Anyway...that's how I see it. Take care.

Thank you for responding I posted my post in my Live Journal too and everyone that responded back to tell me I'm not insane are Geminis too!

I'm 31 and an Aries! I do have Venus, Mars, and Saturn in Gemini, though.. but I don't know if that affects it.

It does amaze me how I can be so nice here on this board and feel at peace then have a total B*tch day from hell where I feel like something completely different.

Yes at the moment my hair is really long and I feel like cutting it all off!

I was a 'goth' when I was younger and my fashion sense is still pretty edgy but I'm being pulled in every direction and I have this light/dark thing in my personality that's really manifesting the past couple days.

*grumbles*

look at me babbling!

I'm going to drink some wine!

WOA...

You're a riot! Wine sounds good to me!

I'm not an astrological "expert"...but just from what you've told me, I think I can explain a little of your so-called "dilemma".

For one thing...Aries is known for being impulsive; in fact some of my more impulsive actions along the way were "inspired" by an Aries acquaintance! (LG mentions in one of her books what can happen when a Ram and Gem combine their energies)
They kind of "egg" each other on...and it can get pretty interesting, lol.

You also mentioned having 3 planets in Gemini...there you go!
Venus is about what and how you love, Mars where your energy is, and Saturn where your fears are and where you have to work and learn lessons. I'm just thinking out loud here...but I would say that these planets having the Gemini influence describe very well what you've shared: Venus in Gemini would indicate a love for variety and change...in tastes (fashion, decor, personal appearance, etc.), Mars in Gemini shows you can put a lot of energy and enthusiasm into these changes, and Saturn in Gemini would be in the "background"...wanting you to put the breaks on, and leading you to worry about your "two sided" tendency in the first place. It's Saturn that has brought you to pause and seriously wonder if you're "insane" (and you're NOT)!

Add this to what I said about combining Aries and Gemini energy...and it explains where you're coming from. Let me stress again...please don't be concerned. It just sounds to me like you have a lot going on inside your mind and enjoy expressing it. And there's nothing wrong with that. Hope this has helped put you at ease somewhat.

Do not worry indeed! Ok, I am going to ramble now...hold on.

Gosh, when I was young I whined the ears off of my parents head. I needed my room smaller (I had a huge room). When finally my room wás small I needed it big again and so on and so on. I wanted this, then I wanted the opposite. I wanted guitar lessons oh no wait....I do not want that anymore, I want to learn to paint, or shall I just deliver newspapers so I can buy a bike? Grass was greener there but when I sat on it I noticed how green it was on the other side. The same with every single thing in my life. Although luckily I learned to settle it down somewhat my life's saying still is:" on the one hand yes but on the other no!" It is like always two sides or hell no....much more! I have accepted it but my moods are still hard to handle even for me. There are so many times that I still don't even get myself or am even to fast for my own brain to follow or think:"how did I get here," to be changing the next minute again! *sigh* I learn, I learn .

Girl, I know what you mean! Enjoy, you're not boring!
Haven't you had blond hair onwhich you could put every colour you wanted? That stuff you can wash out of your hair(what's it's name..."Directions"?); pink, blue, purple, green etc? I loved that stuff. I have had every single colour in my hair except green. Now I am more civilized hehe. It is so hard to make up your mind when you know you're going to be bored with it soon enough. Ah well, when you make sure the rest of your life is having enough variety you probably won't need to change you so much anymore. Aaaah, I do not make sense! I don't even know if I meant that.
Sorry for that, thanx for letting me write this

Take care and 'ave fun!! How was your wine?

I have been soooo tempted by wigs in the past year -- but cut my hair shorter and bought a hairpiece instead (a fall, basically a clip-on ponytail).

Now I'm brooding about a packet of red dye sitting under my bathroom sink... hmmmm.

Yep Wych, this AriesSun GemVenus hears ya. Given way too much money and time, I probably would have at least _two_ houses, totally different -- one earthy, bountiful, homey, and the other stark, industrial, full of glass and "screaming" design. Then there are the days I just wanna sweep into work wearing a load of black eyeshadow and a big hat... when normally ol' paleface here wears tamer corporately acceptable clothes.

Girl, you just need a change! Git on out to a club and dance to some old NIN, howl at the waxing Moon, and if that doesn't work, go for the break up recovery formula -- change your hair, your wardrobe, your environment (decor), and take a trip!!!

YeeeeHaaaaaaa!!!

In perfect Peace and Tranquility,
Lunargirl

Hi WOA!
I was just browsing through this thread, catching up...Aries girl here too, but no Gemini (no AIR at all!)...and I have some of the same fluctuations as you do!

But it also occured to me that at 31, with your natal Saturn in Gemini...you've just finished your first Saturn return! Which I'm sure heralded many many changes for you...now, it seems you are clinging to some of the 'old you,' which is normal. Things that started to change during your return, though, are pretty important...so embrace them and just enjoy your 'Gemini duplicity,' which really isn't so bad as that just made it sound!

Best to you!
