Just now, I had this overwhelming sensation that there was someone behind me, and I just KNOW that one day I am going to turn around and there WILL be someone there!

I have never been a paranoid person, but I can't shake this feeling. I thought perhaps it might be an irrational fear, or maybe even a spirit or ghost. Part of me is expecting a person to break in and (gulp) try and kill me...I hate to even give this power in writing but thought I'd share in case anyone had similar experiences...

Could this be a premonition? An astral body of some kind? Or ghost? I still feel the presence as I write this and it scares the dickens out of me... (

ArtsyAries, do you actually feel/intuit a vibe of violence as you experience the sensation, or do you feel the sensation then fear that it means violence? If, for example, the fear happened afterward, then that makes the fear your own projection.

Clearly you feel threatened... but I can't tell from your post whether you're worried that a real man might invade your house, or more worried that a spirit will manifest. Both notions are frightening, defiinitely. But as Magus concurs, yes, it could be any of those things you suggest, or others.

If I were in your place, I'd A) ask someone I trusted to come over and help check out your place, and immediate surroundings/neighborhood. Check in with your local police station and ask if there's any activity in your neighbourhood you should know about. B) check out some basic psychic self-protection techniques, and use whichever ones appeal to you to set some boundaries in your house.

One basic protection and cleansing ritual might involve walking around the house, blessing the rooms, with a white candle or sandawood inscense or sage, etc., to create a safe space again. Here's a site devoted to it: http://zsuzsana.com/psychic_self_defense.htm

Spirits can move into houses, then out again. I think that if you're feeling the presence that consistently, then it is less likely to be a premonition -- those happen quickly yet strongly, as a flash or impression, whereas this sensation is lingering, right?

I must say that the feeling doesn't come as often since I wrote last. It only seems to happen as I sit at my computer desk. I still sense a "watched" feeling, even now, however it seems that the feeling doesn't strike fear in my gut like it did in the beginning. Now, it seems to happen less and less, which is a good thing.
