I agree it's interesting that Linda doesn't go into the topics of card reading. The closest suggestion she makes is the use of her book Gooberz which can be opened too any page to find answers. I find this a lovely thought and it helps if you don't have a deck of cards to use instead.

I havn't had any experience using Tarot cards myself but have a had a reading done for me. As it was unfolded to me I was having shivers. The cards seemed so accurate to my life experiences and the situations I've found myself in. Do many warning cards come up in a spread?
I wonder how many people take the advise with them, there are signs everywhere for people in their lives, I wonder how many of these little things go unnoticed?

Do you use any other mediums? I've tried with I-Ching but find it a little left of centre, perhaps it's because I'm not meant to use them. I find it difficult to get a true reading from them. I like to use the Gooberz thoery applied to real life, finding the truth in the situation etc. What has been your experience?

Hey alba,
ur absolutely right about that thing you said.. sometimes you dont feel things are right,so you dont feel like doing them..
i was attracted to tarot cards although i never really got a proper reading.my aunt did them, and i always found them very cute, and i could see myself doing it, i was very fascinated.
and you know i just did that gooberz thing in the morning
before you said it... just intuition i guess!
I got an I Ching book a few days ago, but i havent startd reading it.. im getting signals from all sides that i should read it, because i think it will have something very good in store for me...
im just 18 right now,so i guess i still have a long long way to go
Theres alot of time, but so much more to learn...

I also do this other theory, i ask a question deep in my heart and them i switch on the tv.. and whichever song comes first, it always has some answers for me

Do you do tarot cards, alba?
I can help you out, just ask

Other mediums? Usually when i want answers, i just get highly confused and the replies come from somewhere or the other in a week or so.. try doing lexigrams on the 'lexigram magic' forum.....

Dear Pink Angel,

I think that name is beautiful and it was one of the first names I noticed here.

The result you gave Kathryn (Yousay) was great, did you use cards for it or intuition?

-(Isn't that funny! You were looking at Gooberz this morning, also you use things like the T.V too! I do that too, that's what I think I meant about applying the Gooberz theory to real life, it works)!

I'm 22y/o in earth years and I havn't used tarot cards before. Do you find people are happy with the results you get for them?

Do all tarot decks have the same cards in them?

This is what I do... I have I suppose always talked with angels, when I was very little it was normal for me to have conversations with my cat, until I was about 10 I honestly thought she could talk! I really literally thought she was talking to me, I didn't know she wasn't till Mum told me. Thats sad because I probably would have gone on talking to her if I wasn't dissillusioned.

Tell me about the cards I think all decks are the same? tell me what people say about the results, are they surprised?

Love and Light Haley Baby Blu.

Hi, thanks for the compliment
I wrote my first poem today and posted it on the Yellow Wax forum...
I did a tarot spread for yousay, actually tarot requires intuition which gets developed automatically once you get the practise, also thanks to my aqua sun and rising, i have lots of intuition from before
There are lots of Tarot packs, i mean lottts!
But dont get confused, theyre all almost the same thing...
There are 78 cards in a pack, some packs have 60, but i have never used those..
I dont think personally it matters what cards you should buy, they should just be cards.. i mean you could take a Thoth deck or a Rider Waite deck, you would probably get the same readings, its just the way you look at them, in differnt ways.. and they have differnt pictures and are from differnt countries with differnt prices
you must fall in love with your cards, and keep it safely, not share it with other people or buy it with other peoples money.
theyre yours! for the first few weeks you must sleep with it under your pillow
I suggest you to buy the Rider Waite pack, it is easily available and is very non complicated. Also buy a book along with the cards, because the small booklets they provide with the cards dont reveal anything.

I can do a tarot spread for you, would you like me to do it for you here??

Hellooo,

I read Tarot from time to time, and after learning more about it and giving many readings, its accuracy doesn't scare me anymore, but it always humbles me. But I think of it as a map, an aerial snapshot of the querent's (questioner's) situation and spirit at the time.

On rare occasions I have had warning cards come up in spreads, and one spread was so intense I stopped the reading for a friend because I was concerned and had to ask her what the heck was going on! If the same situation happened today, I would finish the reading and THEN ask her what the heck, etc., because it's most helpful to put feelings aside and let the mysteries complete their message.

Tarot is a cool system -- once you know its structures, they provide a person with a way of thinking about their situations in such a way that they can then be open to advice. I find there is so much info in a Tarot spread that it's the rare person who can take all the advice made available. People forget.

BTW, Lindaland has an entire Forum devoted to Tarot -- Through The Looking Glass. Enjoy!

cheers,
Lunargirl

Actually tarot and other metaphysical cards are my medium of choice. I get better results than astrology or any other medium other than intuition.

Whoever mentioned that most people don't take all or any the advice is right on. That's the toughest part of the reading. And if I don't take the advice, I've found I can get really negative readings over and over again until I do something different. So I try not to identify with the cards because if I feel they hold some power over me then I'm really stuck.

Over the years I've owned several decks and have even gotten addicted to them.I've either burned them or threw them away. Now I'm much more balance and limit using them to once a week.

The best advice I can give someone who dabbles in tarot is beware: get a solid understanding of metaphysical Truth and "right thinking" Read New Thought or Buddahist teachings. If you still hold traditional Christian belief systems or are having an emotionally difficult time - keep away from the cards because you can misinterpret the meanings. Know the belief systems that were used to create the cards to have the true meanings reveal. Secondly, remember you always have a choice. If you believe something outside of the relationship you have with yourself and your God can dictate your future, you are not using the cards in a beneficial way.

Take Care,
Blessings

Very wise words, Kat!

Western culture frequently borrows a metaphysical technique from another culture and tradition, and unless we're careful, informed and grounded, we can definitely muck ourselves up. Practicing a metaphysical technique is not like grafting a branch onto a tree!

Even linda goodman says the similar thing.
not only with tarot, but even with astrology.
if we are in a relationship with an uncompatible sign, we mustnt give up hope. we mustnt think that astrology says it is 'wrong'. we must listen to our heart.
