Kundalini is defined in Yogic terms as "a coiled female snake, the latent energy at the base of the spine." Hi everyone. The kundalini is basically energy of the the root chakra - which is located at the base of the spine . Normally there is a downward flow of this energy in to the ground, keeping one 'grounded', but during times of extreme danger this energy starts to blast upwards, providing the energy required to survive, or to accomplish normally impossible tasks - for instance, lifting a truck from a small child. In thi mode, this upward blasting energy is called Kundalini.

It is correct that it is at the base chakra and is coiled like a serpent. When a person has evolved enough through meditation and spiritual awakening the kundalini rises up the spine to the brain through the crown chakra and finally reaches it's destination which is the third eye. The ancient Egyptians had hieroglyphics depicting people in power with a snake attached to the head. Tutenkkhamen was one of them, because only a select privilaged few, were shown how to raise the kundalini not all Egyptians were shown with this symbol.
But there are dangers involved. If the kundalini is raised prematurely and the person involved isn't ready for it they can force it back down to the root chakra which has the unfortunate effect of causing mental unbalance resulting in psychiatric disorders. The brain has to be cleansed of all impurities, the kundalini is fire within matter, and impurities within the system as a whole (human body, soul etc) will get destroyed before their time is due. This also applies to speeding up of the phychic ability artificially; ie drugs or other stimulants. Be careful of the Kundalini.

It is the Serpent Force stored at the base chakra.

It takes years of study and meditation to control it.

It only takes a minute to let it run loose and take you over.

Yes! What Annie said.

Do your meditation, not for the purpose of raising the Kundalini, but strictly for it's own sake. Follow your spiritual path, and as you evolve and grow spiritually, the Kundalini will raise on its own.

On this dimensional level, we are triune beings composed of Body, Mind and Spirit. If one of these triune aspects of being is out of whack, Kundalini rising will do more harm than good.

As the Nazarene has said, "seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you."
