I know many of you could EASILY explain "White Lights", But what is the difference between a near-death white light and a white light during meditation? Are they the same?? Spiritual? I have had them both and they actually seemed the same.

Welcome Philbird

I don`t have an answer as I`ve never had a NDE. Can you share yours with us and maybe we can figure it out?

Odd note on that post. It shows 4666 posts which reduces to 22, my life number

Makes me wonder what information this string will bring ?

Had to note that

Hello Juniperb
First what is a life #?
Second, My NDE was just a matter of a reaction to a medication. It was very scary when the symptoms got worse. The bodily feeling was as though I was burning in a fire. Then I passed out just as we reached the hospital. I remember while my breathing got shallower and shallower a very warm, white light encapsled me and I was at total peace, just quiet, no physical pain, and I relenquished all.... When I woke up I was told I had stopped breathing. Although It's not a funny subject, I have a chuckle whenever I hear a phrase like.."Go into the light, Go into the light" It didn't look like a light at the end of a tunnel, just whiteness all around me. And warmth.

My hubby had a NDE once. He was body surfing in Maui, and got kicked in the neck, partially paralyzing him briefly.

He said the white light was a "place" with "people" in it. Although he could not "see" them, he "felt" them.

The lights he sees when he meditates, are "beings". One is named Heavenly.

That's my 2 cents worth.

Phil, the experience sounds so similar to an intense meditational lite that I can`t tell.

When I`m seeking peace, harmony and the lite, your description fits. Perhaps they`re one and the same? To comfort and protect>

I`m interested now to hear more experiences!

I've never had an NDE as such, but I saw the meditational light. It's weird because you think it's something like someone driving past you window and shining their headlights in, but then you open your eyes and realise it's still dark. I think what you're seeing is the light of existance. God. I think the tunnel is only there when we think it should be. Like, we don't want to go to the light yet. If we were OK with dying, then there might not be a tunnel. This reminds me of Linda's version of God and his Wife as Love and Light.

Heaps of Love,
Dean.

Dean, what you wrote just reminded me of this:

We often say "There is light at the end of the tunnel." We forget that there was light at the beginning of the tunnel.
There was no need to get into the tunnel in the first place.

Well, that also explains why true Masters are said to emanate light. They don't need a tunnel...

Dean.
