While I'm not really interested in having someone dictate to me what this particular experience is (which I will describe below) as I am capable of discerning these things myself in due time, nor be persuaded toward a particular "cosmic" view, I would like to ask if anyone else has had similar experiences and what they personally think, rationally and intuitively, of them.

From time to time, I encounter an individual who I feel I "recognize" on a deeper level than my conscious memories. The sense of recognition seems to well up from the center of my being (solar plexus, roughly), and seems instantaneous and without precendants (that is, I don't at the time or later have recollections of past lives or other forms of memories - just a strong sense of being able to identify this individual...although identify them as what, I am not sure). Moreover, I feel that I "see" this individual with my soul's eye in a way that differs from what I see with my physical eyes - like an "alternate," and I can see both "versions" of the individual simultaneously. In each case, I found the "alternate" to be more attractive in a spiritual and emotional sense, as though it was version of the person I hoped they would grow in to being. In cases where I've known the person over a period of time, it seems to me that as the person grows spiritually and emotionally, "facets" of this "alternate" begin to slowly manifest and they grow more and more in appearence towards the appearence of the alternative I see with my soul eye, although the "alternate" appear more or less ageless. (Not only that, it seems to me that these particular people tend to "morph" more in physical appearence as they mature that other people, and perhaps I'm just more attentive/sensitive to those changes). There doesn't seem to be a clear pattern of "types" like friends, lovers, teachers, relatives, etc, to such experiences, and some of this I could say were soul mates, but not all.

I know some would say this is something to do with past lives, higher selves and whatnot. By and large I haven't found a "explanation" that sits well with me, so I am still leaving myself open to a broader view until I have had more time to discern my own experiences (and possibly have more that may be more revealing). I was just curious if any other people have had similar experiences and what they were like for them. Thanks.

Interesting.

I think that was beautifully described Gemini Nymph.

I'm pretty sure we've all experienced that at some stage. It is absoloutely intuitive.
How else can a soul express recognition when it speaks no words?

I think it's like a remote viewing of a soul.
Only my opinion of course.

Please post your thoughts on this as you go. I'm really interested to know what else manifests as you journey on. When you identify with the individual, do they become you in a interiority sense?
