Ok. Lets say you are enlightened. You have known about you. Then what. I still come to work. Do my job. Go back home. Have meals. Wake up next day. No Pun. So why the urge to get enlightened? Lets just live. With out worrying about virtues or sins. (Unless there really is Gehanna?) Well lets forget the obvious answer to this question and that is "you won't ask anymore questions if you were enlightened especially this". Come with more other questions/answers if you can?

Well for me, it has changed my thoughts (perspective) and has given me the ability to manifest lots of positives in my life. I come from basically nothing but I am living a life of abundance, I have a much better job, I have a good marriage and I have much more peace of mind. I am not totally enlightened , there are still things to work on but I will always reach for more and more enlightenement.IP: Logged |

Yeah..There always is more to learn. The all knows each one of us. Each one cannot know All. With me.. the temptations around me get stronger and stronger. Its as if the noose gets stronger. What is this mysterious force around us? Some say its Maya. A truly enlightened one transcends Mind and time. Appears that state is possibly only in meditation or after death when we become the All.
Agreed.

If we feels the noose tightening, perhaps adding some Virtues would ease some of the pressure quote: Lets just live. With out worrying about virtues or sins.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Yes, I think about this a lot too. I mean, what's the point of being enlightened? See, if we're here to experience life, then ultimately we're against being light. We're here to be matter. But I guess this is different from enlightenment - to be of light, or filling of light, and not necessarilly light itself. For me, the idea of Being Enlightened means you understand where you're going and hence should never fear or act harshly towards another. If everyone understood how beautiful the world is outside our material one, then maybe we would reflect that into this one. Since we don't know, and are unenlightened (as a people) we keep this world in darkness. But then, this is what we experience. Individually, enlightenment means you are AWARE and AWAKE to the possibilities of infinite blessings and LOVE. One point in spreading the light, or helping others to be filled with light is that we, as senders, shall also receive this endless supply of light. The more you give, so shall you receive. You will become a siphon of light from the Universe into the world. You will acheive the state of a Master. But then, only if you want to. I enjoy the feeling of being human and yet evolving with each day. I still get a little scared of Bliss. Heaps of Love, Dean. IP: Logged |

well for me, knowing more about myself and my spirituality has helped me do the daily things I do better. By being enlightened I have learned how to listen to my inner sense to help me manifest positive things in my life like someone else has mentioned and I have trusted myself more since Ive been working on enlightening myself. Enlightenment is a beautiful word to hear......containing Light within onesElf.Yet....I hesitate to ever use it the same. For enLightenment, I believe is is a forever attainment......never truly found, yet ever-seeking. Allways asking the questions....knowing the answers may never be found, yet still satiated with the Quest itself. True enLightenment shall never profess enLightenment. For it is the path, the journey, the road.....not a destination to ever place one's hat.....ever elusive and just out of reach. Yet THERE. "Let's just live." To Live is the journey I believe. Walking the steady path with these steady legs, our mind and heart's eye focused on the Light at the end.... which is nEver at end..... yet always here with us at Beginning. IP: Logged |

I was thinking about this topic on my walk last night. There is more that comes from becoming enlightened. For me it is less judgement of others, I treat people better, I treat animals better. I was able to understand some bad stuff my brother did to me because of the possiblity of karma. I was able to deal better with my fathers death and I was able to let him go. I can have a better relationship with my mom... IP: Logged |
