In Vitruvian man, Leonardo illustrated the classical formula devised by Vitruvius, demonstrating the proportions of the human body. He showed that it fits perfectly into a square or circle, as described by Vitruvius:‘The navel is naturally placed in the centre of the human body and if a circle is described round a man lying with his face upwards and his feet are extended, it will touch his fingers and his toes. It is not only by a circle that the human body can thus be circumscribed, as may be seen by placing it within a square, for if we measure from the feet to the crown of the head and then across the arms fully extended, we shall find the latter measure equal to the former, so that the lines at the right angles to each other, enclosing the figure would form a square’. Renaissance architects regarded this human geometry and the human body as the ‘noblest living form’, seeing it as a model for the wider universe, the basis upon which the wider world could be constructed.

Well, according to CWG, the sould envelops the body. It is without. See, one point is taht their is only one soul - there are no real walls from one soul to the next, the material body is the wall, hence, the soul is without. Interesting that everyone says hte truth is within There's a saying in CWG that goes something like "If I don't go within, I go without"...Dean. IP: Logged |

Oh, the other interesting thing I was going to say I learnt in "The Da Vinci Code". I will also bump that thread once I've finished as it's absoultely fascinating. Anyhow, I was going to mention the Divine Proportion, which I think you are alluding to IAT? PHI = 1.618? The height/distance between belly button and floor = phi, it's in the knuckles, lengths of arms, legs, etc. All over the place. Very interesting - I think right up you ally IAT, though I'm unsure if you'd like the book, but I highly recommend it! Dean. IP: Logged |

I just saw a 2 hour special on Da Vinci Code. On the NG channel. Wonder what thread you are referring to? Would be very must interested to read. I am working on his last suppers painting...I havent contemplated his message quite yet. I heard he was staring at the walls for long hours before he painted the picture and the person who asked him to complete the painting was getting impatient. I heard the CWG quite often on this site... Will certainly have to look out for it in Barnes and Nobles. IP: Logged | |
