quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Father...ooh...oh...oh...
I see the world, feel the chill
Which way to go, windowsill
I see the world’s on a rocking horse of time
I see the verse in the rain
Ohh...ohh...ohh...ohh...
Oh, dear dad, can you see me now
I am myself, like you somehow
I’ll ride the wave where it takes me
I’ll hold the pain...
Release me...
Ohh...ohh...ohh...ohh...

Oh, dear dad, can you see me now
I am myself, like you somehow
I’ll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me
I’ll open up...
Release me...
Release me (3x)
Ohh...ohh...ohh...ohh...

I think I never even heard the words father or dad in all the times I've heard this song over the las tten years, and then I happened to ask a friend what this song might've meant, and he informed me that Eddie's (the lead singer/song writer) lost his dad really young, and this song is asking his dad to release him. Duh. I never even suspected anything like this, so yesterday I was talking to a man who lost his son very young and I played this song, and it just made too much sense, and yet I'm not sure if the man understood. Maybe on a soular level.

Anyhow, life's cool. I just always loved the guitar in this song. Very beautiful...

Dean.

I lost my father when I was young. Took those lyrics right out of my head.

Now, this is slightly off topic, but I had to share this link. http://www.korat.co.il/pearljam/Ibook/index.html . It contains interpretations to a lot of Pearl Jams songs which I find absoultely fascinating. It's amazing how much I didn't understand until I read some of these. Tranquil Poet, have you heard Pearl Jam?

I'm sorry for your loss,
Dean.
ps. I never had a grand father so I wonder what similarities I have with people that don't have a father. Do you have grand fathers that some how take over this role?

Hello everyone!
This may sound funny...but I have discovered that before heavy energy work or channeling or healing work...or raising ones frequency and so forth...that it is a good idea to consume a small amount of honey.
And then again afterwards.
It is a thing of many myths and stories of the eating of honey to enhance our various psychic states and supply the energy for such.
I know of several people who use Reiki and find themselves tired or exhausted afterwards. This is so unnecessary! They make the mistake often of "pulling" in the energy! Or using their own energy! Or letting the energy of the person they are working on...backflow into them!
I simply open..to the energy ALL around us..."let" it flow through me and into and out of the other person. No one holds onto this flow of healing and cleansing energy. It is akin to good medicine. Once it purges the body of the bad stuff...it leaves the body.
When I heal or help this way...I will feel when it is enough! The flow will slow and release me from my altered and heightened state.
I feel refreshed..energized! Invigorated! But
I WANT that honey NOW!
A little protien along with it helps! And light wine or tea.
Even Jesus/Yeshua....and many others spoke of the healed and or the healer as requiring
honey and fish etc.

Interesting faye.
Try Maluka honey...apparently thats' intense stuff but excellent for the body.

And also about the energy thing, that was one of the first principles I learned in Reiki.

When I did some theraputic massage once, I was coming home everynight in tears. I didn't know why then. I'd just come home, relax, not feel sad or anything, but tears just uesd to flow out like no tomorrow. But then I was told that it was how I was dealing with the energy. Apparently I was absorbing most of my clients energy.

SunChild!
Thank you for the honey tip!
I am very surprised at the support groups for
folks who do Reiki in my area. From what I gather these are for those who are trying to find ways to avoid exhaustion from working with energy.
This always and still makes absolutely no sense to me. I worked on one Reiki Master...who told me I was the best they had ever met! But...get this...I was told I was not complete until I recieved an attunement from this master! Ok..I am told I was very skilled...yet I needed something from this person? Well I went home and knowing virtually nothing about Reiki...having just heard of it only a few hours before. I decided I would open and let whatever come to come to show me the way.
It is too personal to post here...but suffice it to say...I experienced an amazingly powerful awakening!
I went to the person the next day and described my experience! Apparently I described exactly the so called secret Master things to this person. Then this person wanted to see..and touched me from behind. Suddenly they were in shaking sobbing tears.
It was an awesome experience to say the least.
Yet...this person still wanted me to pay over a thousand dollars to get my piece of paper proving I was/am a Reiki Master.
I said no thank you.
Well that did not go over well at all.
Oh well....

Talk about synchronicity! I just read this thread and I had posted that very same Pearl Jam song in the Yellow Wax forum two days ago!

This all reminds me of a strange experience I had at my last job. I was ringing up a transaction for a customer. His total was $3.53. Now, get this. He handed me $5.53 and as he was doing that I noticed his wrist-watch had the time 5:53 p.m. on it...
O.k. so I thought that was strange and decided to check the time on our registers. When I did, they also showed 5:53 p.m. I was so blown away that I stopped in mid-transaction and said to the man, "Do you realize what just happened? You gave me five dollars and fifty-three cents at five fifty-three p.m!!!" He looked at me indifferently. No wonder people think I'm crazy.

P.S. Also, there is another customer who comes in a lot when I'm working and every time -- I mean every time -- he comes in, something goes wrong with some kind of electrical equipment. I swear, I haven't lost it. He notices it, too! He even says its not just where I work, but almost every place he goes he causes some kind of electrical issue. *play twilight zone music here*

This was actually an entry in my blog and I just cut and pasted it for its relevance.

I agree. But a psychiatrist would argue that a person who acts and thinks this way is schizophrenic and suffering from delusions...food for thought, huh?

Hello guys, I've been away from this site for some time. Read this thread again when I came back and I felt so happy when I saw everyone's posts. Also felt connected and at home with the energy here.
There's a book by Deepak Chopra titled "Synchronicity"- for those who are interested to know more about it. And I agree that there are no accidents in life, because we attract them to us by our thoughts. There's another book "The Law of Attraction" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. It teaches us how to attract the desirable things into our lives by using deliberate intent and focused thoughts.

I believe it, 26taurus!

Even before I'd ever heard of all this stuff and before I'd read Linda's work, I've always seen signs everywhere.. and I've always believed that numbers had meaning.
The rest of the stuff applies, too. But I just thought it was all in my head.
I've always wanted to be psychic, but I never realized I was going about it in the wrong way... until now.
I'm listening to my intuition more, as it's getting stronger and stronger. That's actually how I found this site! I just had the urge to type the word 'Gooberz' into the search box, and I stumbled upon this place! It's helped me so, so much.

And all you members seem like very nice people, too, so I'm double glad for that!

That used to happened to me a few years ago,(all those nice things you've describe above) while I was reading "Star Signs" ...but then as many others I dare to say, I let all those things one suppose to get rid of (according to LG & Star Signs) take over me again And since then, it's been quite hard to come back where I was, especially now with my newborn baby and all the hard work that this means.

I understand, same here too.

And now I've started coming back to my spirituality, I feel the great need to find others in my life who are spiritual too.
