For as long as I can remember, I have always been sensitive (to people, places, etc.); however I was brought up in a very black and white world (the "real" world). When I began my journey of discovery in this lifetime I discovered things that were hard for me to accept at first.

My grandmother faithfully read her newspaper horoscopes every day and, at the ripe old age of 14, I told her that it was bogus. She asked me how I knew. Weelll, I didn't know. So I set out to prove it. I read everything about astrology I could get my hands on. Lo and behold, I was hooked! My access to astrology was quite limited then (the World Book encyclopedia referred to it as a "pseudo science") but I eventually came across Linda Goodman's Sun Signs. I was impressed with Linda's clarity, style of writing and humor.

Years later while browsing in a bookstore "Love Signs" jumped out a me and I bought it just because it was written by Linda. A lot of the things she wrote about frightened me because they were so contrary to what I had been taught. But at the same time they resonated with me somewhere deep inside.

By the time I read "Star Signs" I was questioning everything I ever thought I knew about anything! Which is, of course, a good thing. In fact, while I was reading it I began suffering from raging sinus problems that I'd never experienced before - third eye softening a little maybe?

Getting to my point (finally). I believe that astral travel and lucid dreams and seeing with your third eye is possible, but I find that whenever I let myself go I become afraid and pull myself back to earth. I don't know why I'm afraid - of losing control? of not being able to "come back"? I don't know.

Does anyone else here feel that way. Or has anyone felt that way in the past and overcome it? I would dearly appreciate some insight.

I pull back as well. I think it's the uncertainty of letting go of the ego. I figure I'm not ready yet. Keep trying!

I think it's a fear of not being ready. I think the best way to reduce fear is through experience. The more you learn, the less fear you will have, and yet, the more you understand that you don't know, and hence fear could increase. But ultimately, I think fear tells you that you're not quite ready yet. Maybe you need something else in order to "fulfil the requirements". I think the that love is the best antidote to fear, but it's hard to harness this exactly. Like, when Linda talks of the excruciating pain involved with releasing the Kundalini energy too soon. It's fine to say love will prevent the pain, but I'm not sure we know how to control this type you love.

Best of Luck,
Dean.

Thank you Philbird and FishKitten, I will keeping on trying.

And Dean, I think you're right about the readiness. I'll take it slowly.

On another note, I would like to thank people on this site for their uplifting posts. I have decided that I am not LindaLand material. I am looking for something that is closer to the things that resonated in me when I read Linda's books.

I wish all of you peace, but more, I wish all of you LOVE - because, afterall, isn't LOVE all there is?

What's "LindaLand material"? We're all here because of Linda. We all read her material with our own eyes, and hence learnt different things. That's why this place is so cool...
