Hello Everybody,

In numerology, do the numbers remain the same throughout name changes? If a person changes their name, does he/she take on a new number vibration? Or do the numbers from the birth name remain with the person throughout such a change?

TY,

Hecate

As far as I understand it from Linda's work, if you change the name you are known by, then the vibration you carry will also change. The karma from your birth date number is the one that stays with you, but we do have some control over that generated by our names... but I would imagine it would take a bit of time of using the new name for the effects to be seen.

Welcome both of you!

I so love it when newbies teach other newbies. It's cute, in a compltetely non-patronising, condscending or derogative way. Like babies playing in a sand pit...

Ahem, yeah, like Morgan Moon said, but some people happen to change their names into the same value (my sister did that) so technically, changing the name will not change the value - it depends on the name. This is completely obvious of course, but I can be banal

Dean.

Hey all...

Actually I work as a numerologist, and I often see that a name-energy change will bring changes in the persons life, but at the same time the old name-energy will still be in affect sometimes. I guess we're not meant to run from our "destiny"... It also seems to depend on how willing the person is to let go of the old energy.

Yes, I also think two things:

1. Lexigramming changes even if the numbers don't - and hence the first name will have the same lexis and may have similar karma atc.

2. The name might not actually change. My wife for instance was told she can change her name on her license and banks etc, but there is no authoritative way to change in Australia. In effect, she has two names. My take on numerology is kinda simple. Every single letter has an associated numerical influence. That influence will retain as long as the name is remembered or used. The more you write the new name and forget the old, the more influence the new name will give. But you will still be the old as well. I guess part of my point is that their will be people out their that might still think of you as the old name - having not known you since you changed it. Hence, they will project karma towards you based on the old influences. It would also be extremely difficult to test this thoroughly as all people have different influences from different people etc, not to mention the planets etc that will influence numbers more than others.

I think it's complicated. So, ChiaZoe, what's life like as a Numerologist? Which systems do you use? Did you ever translate the meanings from scratch - ie read the Chaldean texts and form your own meanings? This is something I'd love to do some day. Maybe.

Anyhow,
Dean.

Hi everybody,

Thank you for your replies, numerology is very new to me. I am seriously considering changing my name, I've never used my first name except for legal signatures. My family and friends all refer to me by my middle name, so I want to just drop my first name. I went to the numerology link from this forum and got two numbers 9/27. I liked what it says about 27, so hopefully the energy will remain.

Hi Sesame..

Life as a numerolist is actually pretty frustrating! I learned the system we use from a lady who claims to have learned it in Australia. It is based on the Chaldean system, pretty much the same as Linda Goodman - we calculate the names and plot them into a diagram. And that is the frustrating part - I haven't been able to find this diagram anywhere outside my own small circle. The system and diagram works, but I'm very frustrated by not knowing the full history. Also we often discuss the names that are less than 10. We were taught to raise them to a value above 10, but also this has been impossible to get confirmed anywhere else. So if you have ever heard of some kind of similar Australian system, PLEASE let me know! I would help me sleep better at night :-)

When we calculate the new name, we look at both the names, and the way they influence each other, plus the monthly energies they create.

Happy New Year all..
