I was pondering the afterlife and heaven last night and I was thinking what if heaven is all in the mind? I mean, you have your own perspective of what heaven is all about.
And when you die, you go to that place you envisioned.
Like, if you don't believe in Heaven, when you die, you are in an eternal sleep and darkness. Or you believe it to be a place of happiness, joy etc, you land up in a place like that.
BUT than that puts hell into question.
Whatever you beleive Heaven to be, hell would have no place in your mind as nobody wants to go to hell, thus it doesn't exist. However, what about family and friends?
Surely they will have different ideals of what Heaven is? So you could never meet up with them in the afterlife unless you share the same ideals.
BUT what you envisioned Heaven to be, your family and freinds would be there too as you want them to be there. So it's a vicious circle which will be broken when you find out what Heaven is, when you die.
Why is it so hard to figure it out? Simply because we don't know what to expect in the after life.
I hope this is some food for thought!

Hello Yang,
Hey I've always wondered- is Yin related to you in some way?

This is my take only, and not original- it's from a lot of teachings and rememberings. But I choose to stay here. Heaven on Earth is my view of Heaven!
I don't choose to die- so I don't expect to arrive in heaven if I do.
I know it's up to us- and me to create it where we are right now.

If we choose to die- we return into spirit form, and incarnate again, and unfortunantly we lose all memory of what passed before until we remember. In my remembering, I know I was here before- dreams tell me this.

Everything is an invention of our mind- and our imagination- what we think we will create. So your answer to your question is a yes no type one I feel.

Some more thoughts soon....

Yes, and no, like Neo Kitty said I was thinking yes, because your mind creates your heaven, but then I rethought this to be the Soul controls the mind, or at least they communicate, so it's not just the mind. But then, how does the mind learn if not through the Body? Eyes, ears, etc. Eyes pick up energy in the form of light, as ears pick up sound, as touch picks up um, touch - all of these are energy but are also matter. As electricity is also magnetism (the electromagnetic force) so matter is energy (e=mc^2). Funny that electromagnetic could be shortened to EMC. Anyhow, so my point is your heaven is what you create from your entire being, which can be understandably shortened to the mind as it is the conduit that "understands" (or stands under) everything else. OK, so once your body dies, does the mind live on as the soul does? How does the soul know stuff if not for the mind? Can one soul have many minds? Well, YES, God is all, and yet we are individual so as one entity we know of everything we've done, and yet want to do, which is then split into the heirarchy that we call "us". I don't know if we as humans are one of the lowest forms of this heirarchy, or that it Matters, my point is experience. We create our definitions through our experience and then live their conclusions, so if you view that you may burn in hell for doing something terrible, then you will, but never for eternity. Here's the catch, after life, there is even more "notime" than in Life so how long will you be in hell for? Hoe do you define any length of time without the orbit of the Earth?

So, in closing, Life, as in Death, is created from what you choose. If you live negatively, then you may be uncomfortable throughout life and into death. But, I believe we all understand at some point how truly varied life is and yet how we are all one. And yet, how to escape the clutch of negativity? Well, numerology helps, but everything else I think boils down to love and desire.

Do I sometimes sound like a broken-down clichéd record?

Well, anyhow,
Heaps of Love,
Dean.
