When I was little, and me and my mum used to live alone in TAiwan (where it's legal to hit kids) and well, she used to hit me with hangers, often. And then at the end of it, she would cry, and say how much it hurts her. For a while, I was...eh...not so happy about that, especially when i first entered the teenage years and with all that change year going on, now...it's not too bad. I mean, I don't know, I still remember it, and it did screw me up a little, but I know that she was only doing what she knows. I've a three year old sister, and sometimes I wanna hit her, for being so unbelievably spoiled and all. I think it's all right to spank them, just not so hard. And definately without welts. And then at the end, tell the kid why you are doing so. And please, don't cry at the end. That just makes everything very awkward...or maybe you should...bagh!don't listen to me, what do i know!

It wasn't that bad, really! I live with mom still, and well, before, she was...screwed up herself. I'm fifteen! I mean, long story short, she was what--alone, with a love child (giggles, love that word!) and eh...physical abuse and all, from my first stepfather.

Either way, I did read what you wrote, and I'm so sorry! I can't claim to say mine was worse, it wasn't, I was lucky. I am lucky.

And I don't know, I'm so glad I'm not a parent. I feel guilty for yelling at my little sister, but at times, that's the most you can do. That's the only thing you can do really, sometimes, when nothing else works. But never enough to draw blood. Never ever.

What do you guys know about alcoholic fathers? That was my first stepfather, you know? brr...don't remember him much, but what I do remember, i don't like.

I had 12 brothers and sisters under me. I was the oldest. Believe me, I YELLED ALOT!!!
It was not a happy joy joy thing. But I was the oldest of only 5 when my mother abused me. The others came from a combined family after my dad divorced and remarried. Five beds, fifteen people, you do the math. It was no fun. Ok thanks for letting me rant!!!!!

Yeah, we had the four bdrms, 11 people thing. I was in the middle of 8 kids and a cousin. We got along OK. Actually, pretty good for 8 unsupervised kids! We still like each other! And yes, mom used whatever was handy to keep us in line. One of her favs. was to send us to her bedroom to pick out one of our Dad's belts. That's right, we got to choose!!! Somehow, we were terrified of my dad, who never laid a hand on us, and always gave our mom sh!t. War stories, huh? But we all survived!

Sorry I I took so long. I couldn't find anything in my books about misbehaving kids, but I found these:

quote:
Family Unity Spell
1.Take small hair clippings from every member of the family.
2.Roll is up in a leaf, rolling toward you.
3.Fasten it with the strand of the mother's hair (or the father, or whoever is the unifying focal point of the family).
4.Bury it under a tree.
and
quote:
1. Gather toe-nail clippings from each member of the family.
2. Wrap them in cloth and bury at the foot of a tree.

Here's a weird one:

quote:
1. Dry and reserve your children's umbilical cords.
2. Save them in an amulet bag.
3. As each new child is born, tie the umbilical cord to that of its siblings to keep teh children close, united and harmonious.

The first one might solve two problems at once. I would bury it in a garden around your house, or a tree in your yard--somewhere that represents your family and home. Another option is burning/fumigating white sage around the house or around your person to cleanse the negative energies of anger, frustration and guilt.
