Why the World Is Upside Down
by Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Jesus taught us how to forgive out of love, how to forget out of humility. So let us examine our hearts and see if there is any unforgiven hurt - any unforgotten bitterness!

It is easy to love those who are far away. It isn't always easy to love those who are right next to us. It is easier to offer food to the hungry than to answer the lonely suffering of someone who lacks love right in one’s own family.

The world today is upside down because there is so very little love in the home, and in family life. We have no time for each other. Everybody is in such a terrible rush, and so anxious…and in the home begins the disruption of the peace of the world.

Sometimes we take those we love for granted and we don't extend the same politeness to them as we would a stranger or close a friend. How sad is that? I mean if we can't give to those who love us the most, what does it tell us about ourselves?

Yes I do believe that charity begins at home. If you cant't extend it to those in your family, then surely it's not possible to truly extend it to those who are not.

As for the telly, I think it robs our children of very valuable lessons in social skills and personal communication. I think the level of education also suffers. I'm astounded at some of the kids I talk to these days. They don't read or play with other kids, it's all about solitary video games and visual stimulation. Not all of that is bad granted, however it's pretty dire that my brother in law has to go into State schools in the United Kingdom to teach children how to play with one another and how to apply normal social skills. I do agree with Faye it won't hurt to turn the b****** thing off now and then. Sometimes I think it's all about keeping us entertained and keeping us stupid.
