i was raised southern baptist & had to hide this book from my mother so yes i would say that(its satanic) if i was a baptist lovecraft, & crowely **** alot of people off and come off as squabbling ego trippers but i still like to look at their views. some of crowelys lectures on mediatation ect. have some good info. and i totally dig the Thoth tarot and his essays on it. it isnt exclusively my style but i find it interesting none the less. i gleen what i like from them. to each his own. the weird thing about this post is i really thought the book was a little boring. i prefer to read crowelys work over the necronomicon.IP: Logged |

I couldn't finish it! It was boring and ridiculous! I thought I'd take a look at it since so many people had/have the ooogum boogums about it. Boring boring boring, and this was worth all the hoopla and hype? Phhfffttt.....Blah! It is amazing what alot of press, especially negative, and media hype, and paranoia can do to make people curious and terrified!

i fell for it too, embarassed to say that i have this book (bought it in my teens out of curiosity), i've read that the book is not real, it's made up by the author for some reason i don't remember there also seem to be different versions of the book, mine's a simplified version, if anybody remembers theirs, do yours have something like 50 seals and short explanations on what it's good for? anyway, i think the book is silly and over the top (well, my version anyway), i'll give you an example of what i mean quote:
20. The Twentieth Name is SUHRIM.
Seeks out the Worshippers of the Ancient Ones wherever they may be. The Priest who sends him on an errand does so at terrible risk, for SUHRIM kills easily, and without thought. His Word is MASSHANGERGAL.
We will not comment on the above
that last line in the quote is the editor's "comment"
