Well your self is a ego. A thought is what you receive and react to. Although one has every quality of everything, yet he has none of these in reality.
Thoughts might be made of particles which science has yet to discover

I met this Person in a Yoga workshop. He talks in great length about Self, spirit and soul? I cant believe he was an Atheist.

OK, so if thought is energy, then what you think about yourself is projected energy from within you. What happens to that energy? The fact that the energy is transferrable to matter could mean you project yourself into your environment. Your self is a self-projection through your thoughts. And yet, it is also a projection from everyone else. You are not just your thoughts, but a result of humanity's thoughts. We are the results of our experiments. We are the spongy matter within the sponge. Our local influence over the entire sponge is universal in that the removal of our locality would create a vacuum in the entire sponge. In effect, we project ourselves through the fact we are all. Hence, the aspects we project create who we will become, but they are just a minute portion of the whole, that we create. As we are a minute portion of the whole.So, yes, imo, self is thought, but since self is all, thought is all, and hence, all is all Well, nice chatting with you,

Beebudy - did you read the ebook in the above link. The author had asked the same question to himself. I am not sure why but he believes Psyche is same as Soul.
You or Self may be defined as Soul.
Your higher soul is God (the universal energy) Ego = arrogance, the seperatedness, did you see some Americans build fences around the garden to keep the neighbors off That is how we build our own islands and enjoy. The goal of meditation is to still the mind. To connect to the one Universe. More on Psyche later. I myself have to read the ebook. Since thoughts are particles, it has to be powered correct. After that the particles have to manifest. The whole creation was a thought, and during the big bang there may be one big dream. We are each living individual dreams.
So Ego, etc , are not bad. We must just play our role and bid farewell. I am so convinced of the thing called Fate. I so believe it these days. Only the ego or the mind prevents us from seeing.
Mind is not bad. Don't misunderstand me. Mind exists so we can perceive beauty and function on our day to day activities, etc. God takes care of all sentinents equally.

no worries, but what do you mean a cyclical question? the idea is that there either is or is not such a thing as a particle or any singular and exclusive entity... which is what ego/self/psyche is all about right?IP: Logged |
