We just got a new Hot Tub/Spa and last night I was Star Gazing. I saw 3 shooting Stars 1 airplane, and 2 unidentified flying objects. The 2 UFO's appeared as a distant star, a tiny pin of light, which moved slowly, and not in any direct line, like they hovered/winded a tiny bit off course of a straight line. What are these? The only other thing they could be besides a Starship would be a Satellite. I don't know exactly how a satellite would appear from earth. IP: Logged |

yes many satellites can be seen with the naked eye they will appear as a pinpoint of light and move quickly, often crossing from one end of the sky to the other in a matter of minutes.......sometimes appearing to zig zag(an optical illusion i think)the best time to look is just after sunset or just before dawn when the sun will glint off them best.... also we are entering the annual perseid meteor shower, which will peak aug.11-12....

You definately can see satallites w/o a telescope. In fact, most move as fast or faster than planets, and PLANETS move fast!! (In our sky, in relation to Earth)Angela IP: Logged |
